I don't know if it's wrong to vote for Obama because he's black or not...what do you say? I never said I wasn't going to vote because of his color. I don't have a problem with anyone voting for someone for whatever their reason is.

I have heard a lot of people here being very critical because they believe that many African Americans will only vote for Barack because he too is black. To me , it seems just as bad to vote for someone based on their sex alone.

So I want to make sure I have this correct for November. In 2000 Gore was beaten by a dummy with a fake Yale education. Doesn't say a lot for Gore... Kerry was beaten in 2004 by the same dummy with the fake Yale education. Doesn't say a lot for Kerry. So if Obama/Biden lose to the old guy and the "token", what does that say for them...

I disagree...in your 2000 and 2004 examples, it doesn't say a lot for the people that voted for the "dummy".

I could not be happier with the selection. Romney would have been a solid, safe pick, but Palin has the potential to blow the lid off of this race. Now, McCain will be able to credit Palin for persuading him to reverse his position on ANWR drilling. High energy costs and the importance of tapping our own petroleum and natural gas reserves in addition to inflating all four of our tires to the right pressure and expanding our use of nuclear and other alternative energies.

 

McCain is also setting Obama up on the abortion issue. Palin is the perfect pro-life spokesperson and the attacks on her as an extremist by the left have already begun. Eventually, Republicans will force the mainstream media to cover the ugly truth about Obama's facilitation of infanticide in Illinois - and it will likely be done in response to attacks on Palin's pro-life position by the Obama campaign.

 

McCain is running a masterful campaign and Palin continues his recent string of sound decisions. I am not an enthusiastic McCain supporter but I have been very impressed with the campaign that he has put together and I think Palin will prove to be a huge asset for him in November.

Wow. If (big if in my mind) McCain wins and decides to only be a one term president this would make for a possible Palin/Clinton matchup in 2012. Lots of ifs but it beats trying to figure out if Obama is a natural born citizen.

First it's not wrong for a black person to voet for Obama b/c he's black but why are they? Does he even relate to black people. Unless I'm totally off (which is possible) he wasn't raised by a black parent. Isn't his mom a white woman that got pregnat by a Kenyan national and later married a muslim and moved out of the country? How do people who were raised in neigborhoods considered "black" relate to that? He was raised muslim in a different country. I grew up in Covington KY and not one black person I grew up w/ has any of that in common w/ Obama.

Fair enough, but I do not think your position will be that of the marjority of women. It will resonate with MOST women.

 

I do believe you are wrong though if you think 99.9% of this pick is for angry Hillary voters. The voters that will decide this election are the moderates/independents/undecideds. Which way those swing will determine the outcome.

 

 

I'm a moderate, undecided, Independent. :lol: I don't know much about Ms. Palin. I do know that I'm not going to vote for McCain just because she's a woman. That would be as silly as me saying I'll vote for Obama just because Biden is Catholic (which is actually appealing to me).

 

I refuse to be a "pandering vote" to either. I want to know what she brings to the table. I plan to read the link posted earlier and see what else I can find out.

 

But, one strike against her for me is her stand on gun control. That's a 90 degree difference for me. It's more like a little tick mark against her though. I'm not anti-gun, I'm for change in the way we deal with the constitutional right to own a gun.

 

I'm negating the Pro-Life/Pro-Choice issue, because for me, it's not a deciding factor, although I am not for abortion. Regardless of whether RvW is overturned or not, the issue for me is that it's an issue each and everyone of us can affect ourselves.

 

Issues that I'm most concerned about are the economy, education, healthcare, energy-independence, and how we resolve the Iraqi situation.

I was basing that it was wrong on what some conservatives on this very board have said. I'm fairly sure I have seen many people on here make the claim that if a black person votes for Barack only because he is black, that is wrong. I'm just curious if those same people feel that voting for a woman simply because she is a woman is wrong. It's really not a big deal either way, I was just curious.
