August 29, 200818 yr You really want to take a walk down the experience path? That's all you Republicans have been harping about, thought it was a valid point. If something happens to McCain, we have no experience.
August 29, 200818 yr I'd be interested to hear why you think so. Where do you see this impacting undecideds? My wife is/was a HUGE Hillary supporter. She has said for a month that McCain names a woman and he wins the election. She has went from a Hillary voter in the primary to a McCain supporter with this one action. Palin will identify with most working mothers out there. They WILL KNOW they have a voice in that White House instead of KNOWING that their candidate got NO SERIOUS CONSIDERATION from O.
August 29, 200818 yr In my opinion, you can have all the votes here in Kentucky you want. But thank goodness it's not going to matter. You may be right, I just hope not.
August 29, 200818 yr Author Come on Hearsay, you know as well as I that it's not arrogance but political ploy. Do you think the Mayor of Bardstown would qualify for being the VP of the U.S.? I think it's an honest dig. While this country is made up of such towns, the vast majority of the population probably resides in and/or around major metropolitan areas. I don't see it in terms of arrogance at all. I disagree. It comes off as arrogant in the same way the "cling to their guns and churches" comment came off as arrogant. He's already said it BTW. You have to remember that most of the country watches Oprah Winfrey. They don't spend a lot of time reading into things, and a surface comment like that comes off arrogantly. Now the above comment really IS arrogant (by me), but I'm not running for President so I can afford to be arrogant.
August 29, 200818 yr To show that the double standard still exists, a female conservative called into Beck's show today and said that while she liked her conservative policies she thought that she would be "abandoning" her children , especially her youngest, if she became the VP. I'm guessing that this will come up in some people's minds.
August 29, 200818 yr Don't know if it will be 1 or 100K votes but this evens the, "Vote for Obama and make history" argument...
August 29, 200818 yr My wife is/was a HUGE Hillary supporter. She has said for a month that McCain names a woman and he wins the election. August 29, 200818 yr I agree this is a great pick... Poor Hilary another woman takes her spot..... again... haha Hillary is still the "top dog". Palin will be invisible if McCain wins. A token pick for McCain.
August 29, 200818 yr That's all you Republicans have been harping about, thought it was a valid point. If something happens to McCain, we have no experience. If Obama wins we have no experience. I'll take an if over a for sure any day. My point was Obama and the Dems can't touch the experience because Obama has just as little.
August 29, 200818 yr Author Hillary is still the "top dog". Palin will be invisible if McCain wins. A token pick for McCain. One thing Sarah Palin will never be is invisible.
August 29, 200818 yr If something happens to McCain, we have no experience. I can see how it goes over with women now when Obama's camp goes after Palin on lack of experience. Palin did obviously take some time away to give birth to and in raising a family, they are going to critisize that?. Unless Obama has been the recipient of a miracle, I don't think that he can say that . I can just see and hear the reaction of women when they hear these attacks that already starting . She (Palin) is from a small town, they are starting to critisize that and how is that going to go over with most of America that are from small towns? Palin will also bring something to the ticket that Obama NEVER could.....someone who common people can relate to and admire. That Obama imitation of a JFK speech just lost it's lustre imo. I have already posted more again in this forum than I had said I would and that I wanted to but I am just glad to see McCain put someone that imo real America can relate to and whether or not McCain wins this election this was great move. JMO Good bye again......for while . Hopefully untill after the election (for me) then I will be back to offer congrats to whoever wins and prayers for them and our country.
August 29, 200818 yr Having a woman on a national ticket will resonate with women just as having an african american on a national ticket will with african americans. Right or wrong, who knows. I'm a woman. I don't "feel it" with this pick. I'm 99.999999% sure McCain did it to pick up the angry Hilary would-be voters. That's smart on his part to win the election. But, I don't necessarily think she's qualified for the job, and I definitely am not prone to overlooking it because she's a woman. So, in this election we now have an African-American running with a Catholic (historic pairing), and a POW with a gun-totin' woman (historic pairing). Interesting election. Now that I know who McCain is running with, it will make my quasi-indecisiveness much shorter-lived.
August 29, 200818 yr I've heard many women on today who say her leadership skills are based on her being a mother of 5. That, too, can be a double-edged sword if that starts being used. If you're a dad like many of us are , ie you don't just plop on the couch when you get home, that's offensive. My wife does an amazing job but she doesnt do it by herself and would be the first to admit that.
August 29, 200818 yr No doubt. She is smokin'. I keep thinking that a sex video or steamy photos are going to surface; on the one hand I don't want them to, but on the other, I do. Sorry, that's very sexist and insensitive. I apologize. If you are going to apologize for your post I suppose I should also apologize for googling "Palin sex video" all afternoon. By the way.......zero hits.
