August 29, 200818 yr I have heard a lot of people here being very critical because they believe that many African Americans will only vote for Barack because he too is black. To me , it seems just as bad to vote for someone based on their sex alone. You never heard me say that. Now about my vote just because she's a woman...... 1) I will not vote for Obama for any reason even thought I really do like Biden. 2) McCain scares me with his temper. 3) Because of the top two reasons - I had no one to vote for. then along comes number.... 4) McCain asked a woman to be his VP.....bingo....I will vote for her becuase she's a woman becaues I have no other reason to vote for anyone else......Has McCain pander to me...you bet and I like it.... so there goes my reason and he has my vote......up until today...I wasn't going to vote at all.....

I never said I heard you say that. And wouldn't it sound bad if I said, I'm not voting for her because she's a woman? That isn't the case, because I do not think I could ever cast a vote for John McCain. However I think it is wrong either way. I'd rather not vote than to vote for someone based on sex alone. With that said, it is your right to vote however you choose, and I will not say another word about it.

I'm fairly sure I have seen many people on here make the claim that if a black person votes for Barack only because he is black, that is wrong. Ok let me rephrase, I would guess most black Americans don't have a white mom that moved her family to Indonesia while the child was young. I would guess that as a child most weren't raised in a muslim environment in a different country. I would also guess that most around his age didn't even go to college let alone the colleges he went to. I think he graduated from Columbia. Again, I'm guessing that Columbia is a mostly white school. So I'm guessing they don't have much in common. Better?

Even on left wing blogs, the buzz today is heavily tilted in McCain's favor. McCain effectively cut Obama's brief momentum shift off at the knees.
August 30, 200818 yr As we watched a replay the speech that Sara Palin's made this morning, my son and I were discussing how much better she was at reading a teleprompter than John McCain. Later, we learned that she was speaking without the benefit of a teleprompter and I never saw her look at any notes. That was an impressive performance. Liberals have good reason to be worried tonight.

August 30, 200818 yr After watching Palin's speech again I did notice her subtly referring to written notes during applause a few times. Maybe she will give McCain some pointers. Palin also does not interject streams of "uh...uh" when asked simple questions the way that Obama does.
August 30, 200818 yr I'm a life long Democrat and right now I am leaning toward McCain Palin . Obama is really going to have to do some pretty hard convincing to have me vote for him . My parents have never voted Republican at any level. My parents have never considered voting Republican at any level. They are both considering it and I think will vote for McCain/Palin.
August 30, 200818 yr Does she share your religious views? Yes and we had some disagreements on her support of Hillary. She did not agree with many if not all of Hillary's positions. But she liked the idea that Hillary was a female.

August 30, 200818 yr Bad pick in my opinion.. seems like McCain needs to take all the attention off Obama and swing some back his way. Biden will tear her apart in a debate... but she is a good looking older lady, I don't question McCain's manhood.
