July 31, 200818 yr Author It is being reported on 1530. Looks like Anderson and a pitching prospect Are they reporting that Jr. accepted the deal?
July 31, 200818 yr Anderson and Nick Masset (allegedly), not confirmedTo me, the exchange was pointless in this one. I love Ken Griffey Jr. I think he's a great person, was a phenomonal player, but see ya later. I think he's been holding these young guys back.
July 31, 200818 yr How does Griffey being traded affect ticket sales? To me, they go down will fall some, IMO.
July 31, 200818 yr what I heard (am not listening now) on 1530 was that "insiders" werer reporting that Jr. had accepted
July 31, 200818 yr ESPN just said that Griffey is offering the Reds a lower price on his option at the end of the year if they will extend one year. Looks like Griffey is trying his best to stay, even willing to accept less money just to stay in Cincy.

If he'd take the league minimum, I might consider it. Getting rid of Griffey is not about the money. It's about moving forward. The Griffey experiment in Cincy was one of the worst failures in sports history. He's been a dark cloud for a decade and I don't think the organization and team can move on until he's gone. I think the whole atmosphere around the team will lighten when he departs.
July 31, 200818 yr read on another site that the deal might be expanding too, who knows... as in the Reds shipping some relief pitchers too
July 31, 200818 yr How does Griffey being traded affect ticket sales? To me, they go down will fall some, IMO. I can't believe they'd fall any. I mean, seriously, is there anyone out there these days that is buying a ticket to see Griffey fail to catch routine fly balls, generally not hustle, and hit under .250?
July 31, 200818 yr How can Griffey take right field for the Reds if he nixes this trade? He will be ragged big time.

July 31, 200818 yr Actually lots of people I know only go to watch Griffey play... Must be some pretty disappointed and frustrated people . . . .
July 31, 200818 yr If I take my son to the ball park and he is not in the lineup, we are both not happy. Like it or not, he is one of the best to ever play and I don't mind saying that I have watched him do so. G
