July 31, 200818 yr Griffey may not be done moving. According to Rosenthal The ChiSox don't have room for him in the OF. Unless they move Swisher to 1st base and give less playing time to Konerko and/or Thome. I think that Griffey stays with the ChiSox and Swisher moves to 1st base. Then the ChiSox, maybe, trade Swisher or Thome. Griffey Trade
July 31, 200818 yr Like it or not, he is still one of the best players to suit up and he's a fan favorite (especially to younger kids). I would buy that he might still be a fan favorite, but there's no way on God's green Earth that he's still one of the best players suiting up. Not even close.
July 31, 200818 yr Author Who is going to start in the Outfield now? Bruce, Dunn, Patterson? Hairston, Dunn, Bruce.
July 31, 200818 yr Rosenthal saying only 1 MM in cash... Did he say it was only 1 MM or that it involved a cash transaction involving something over 1MM?
July 31, 200818 yr Did he say it was only 1 MM or that it involved a cash transaction involving something over 1MM? He updated it after that. It's over 1 million based on going to Selig for approval. Looks like they are splitting the remaining deal and the buyout. Should save about 4 million...

On the current Reds team, yes he is. I'll give you Dunn and Phillips. After that, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who is producing this season as much as Griffey has.

I wonder if Jocketty used that as trade propaganda... "Come on! He's the third best player on a slightly below average team..."
July 31, 200818 yr Author So what happens if the Dunn to Tampa rumors materialize? Then I quit watching the Reds for the rest of the season.
July 31, 200818 yr I wonder if Jocketty used that as trade propaganda... "Come on! He's the third best player on a slightly below average team..." I'm not saying it's not pathetic, just that cooperstown is off when he says Griffey isn't one of the best players on the Reds, because he is.

Griffey is hittin .225 with 15 bombs and 53 rbis, Edwin has hit 20 bombs and has 43 rbis in the six hole while batting 260, if he hits 3rd he has well over 55 rbis, Votto, may have less homers but is hittin 270 and has close or over 40 rbis, he would have more if hitting third. Theres two players, ,Bruce would be a third if he had played all year.
