In the 16th, I don't think Mayo and Walker in the 7th and 8th grade could compete with Antonio Owens as a senior. Owens is the best I've seen in the 16th.

In the 15th, the best I ever saw was John Sloan from Sheldon Clark in the early- to mid-90's.

I think it's funny that that is the first play of the game. No score in the background!

Also, the first game of the season as well. So not just first points of a game, first points of the season.

I

2nd best was Mason/Waren Central finals in 04. I think the Waren Central player was Dewalt (went to UK on football and then transferred).

What happened to Lonnell Dewalt? This kid took over the state tourny with his thunderous dunks and great rebounds. He had possibly two of the best dunks I've ever seen in HS basketball.

Here is a YOUTUBE clip of possibly the best dunking HS basketball team I've ever seen. There are probably 3 or 4 dunks that would be #1 Highlights on ESPN. Especially watch the last dunk, which was spoken about above during the Mason Co vs Warren Cent State Championship game.

Didn't see Miller's dunk, but DeWalt's was the greatest i had ever witnessed. Completely sick

Alvin Sims' highlight reel ... you don't wanna miss this!

The last time I saw Sims I was playing against him in the Morehead City League. Still can shoot.

A lot of the crowd went crazy... But I just remember staring, probably with a, "Did he really just do that?" kind of look.

Yes DeWalt's dunk was awesome!!! Hands down

Russ Chadwell- Clay County from '87-88. He was about 5'10-5'11 and had plenty of NICE dunks, especially baseline dunks. He won 2nd place in the dunk contest at the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC in '88. Everick Sullivan who was about 6'5" and played at Louisville won the contest. Some other players that were in the tournament that year were Kenny Anderson, Stanley Roberts, Jerod Mustaf, Don McLean but I can't remember if they were in the dunk contest or not. Russ was "sick" on that leaner from the side of the lane!! Measured at a 42" vertical.

Sims is still playing professional basketball in Europe.

Looks like a charge to me!

I am trying to think of the kids name that played for Clay with Farmer in the late 80's. He was one the best dunkers in Kentucky High School History at 6'0.

Russ Chadwell

...From back in the day...MR. Darrell Griffith and his sidekick Bobby Turner were a carnival of dunks!
