One of the best dunks I saw in a game I was playing in at Raceland was when we went and played @ Ironton. I don't remember the guy's name from Ironton, but he drove the lane and jumped completely over Lance Black and threw one down. Everybody on our bench jumped up in total amazement.....however, by the look on Coach Jenkins' face....he did not appear to be amuzed.

I had a window of time going into my senior year of college when I could dunk. Then I stopped dieting, put my weight back on and the natural order of beer and fast food took over. Now I'm just fat.

Nick Sanford was more of a pure scorer rather than a guy that would just dunk on you. I do think that Nick was the best to ever play in the county but Thomas was one that would dunk on you if he got a chance.

:lol: :lol: wideopen. I've seen Thomas dunk on and around people many times (so have you - if you remember Sanford playing), I'm not saying that Sanford wouldn't or couldn't dunk on somebody. All I'm saying, in my opinion Thomas was the more aggressive dunker.

I know that he is very humble but I have to throw FastBreak some props. I saw him dunk (3) Double Stuff Oreos in a row and not splash a drop of milk.:thumb:

Back during their time at Lex Cath Demetrius Green and William Graham were two of the more impressive dunkers I got to see. Green had some real rise in his jump. I can't remember now but I am pretty sure Green posterized one of Scott Co.'s big men back in '03 or '04.

Ravon Lee he dunked one on Ty Proffitt a couple of years ago and we still pick at Ty about it.

Matt Baker 95'-Powerful two hand dunker, transferred from shelby Valley

Jermey Hayes 01'-Had a nice little 1 hand dunk in at least two games I saw, while he drove the baseline.

 

I can only remember from about 1988-89 and up.

In the 70's when I played dunks were banned. If you got caught doing it in warmups your team was given a technical.

 

Still the rule isn't it? Refs just don't come out the first 10 minutes of the warm-up but if your caught , it's a T :ylsuper: It always amazes me to see kids dunk so easily in warm-ups and they get in a game and can"t play a lick.

I remember when CovCath's Brennan Votel (Penn) broke the rim at NCC one night before th game, it was great.

 

Brennan was good dunker and so was Stephen Muck.

 

Both good dunkers but I would have to say the best CovCath dunker was Brennan's brother, Ross. He threw it down HARD...kinda like Dominique. I'll never forget his dunk against Boone in the 9th region finals at Holmes. Yikes.

Generally the officials come out onto the court with somewhere around 15 minutes left in warmups. I'm sure that most if not all teams are instructed by their coaches to stop dunking in warmups when the clock gets to 16 minutes or so. There are still occasions where teams will "get caught". Last time I saw it was when Mason County played the Centennial Georgia team; MC got free throws before the game started.

 

Dunking is often diffferent from playing. I've often seen kids drain everything they shot in warmups; it's a different story when someone's in your face the entire game.

I was looking through this thread and noticed that no one has said anything about University Heights.....My guess would be that Scotty Hopson is probably their best dunker. Anyone think anything different?
