The SEC - Big 10 Debate

Featured Replies

Wouldn't Appy St. vs. Michigan & North Dakota State vs. Minnesota also fit in this category.

I only counted games against teams that made a Bowl this season.

Gotcha.

Wouldn't Appy St. vs. Michigan & North Dakota State vs. Minnesota also fit in this category.
If that is the case Appy St. would fair pretty well in the SEC.
That was an early game early in the season. If those two played now, it would be a lot closer than what that score was and I would probably say V. Tech could beat LSU right now.

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

LSU demolished VT.

Just for reference, on the day LSU was beating VT by 41, tOSU was beating mighty Akron by 18.

Keep coming up with excuses though.

There is no debate. The SEC is far and away a better football confrence.

I don't think there really is an argument either, IMO the SEC is clearly the best.

Because they now have a former SEC coach at the helm. ;)

That's funny you say that when Mr Meyer has a Masters degree from The Ohio State University. Former grad assistant coach at The Ohio State U and also a former DB coach at Cincy St X, former player at UC. Your beloved Gators are operated by a Buckeye in disguise :jump:

And then there's Les Miles... :sssh:

I can't blame my fellow Buckeye brothers. It's cold in Ohio... I would move south too!

We have the ole Mentor product doing us well for now.

If that is the case Appy St. would fair pretty well in the SEC.

And by the same token would have faired pretty well in the Big Ten based on this assumption.

I think The Big 12 could put up a good fight. :D

Or maybe the Big East:sssh:

As far as the Big 10 - SEC debate.......The Big Ten needs to be the Big Eleven..... The Big Eleven has 2 very strong traditional powers in Ohio State and Michigian.

The SEC can field several contenders in any given year. Does that make one conference better than the other? I'm not sold on either one but as an SEC fan I would like to see the BS I mean the BCS go to a playoff format.

I don't want to hear you can't do it because some BCS teams have been off for 30+ days and I'm sure that someone smarter than me can figure out a playoff number of teams, schedule dates that allow exposure, and keep a bowl format for the teams not in the playoffs. This can be done and shame about it all is "WE" crown a National Champion on one game after their regular season is done. I would venture to guess that no less than 6 of the 10 National Champions in I-A (or whatever they call it now, bowl eligable???) would have lost in a playoff system and thus were not the best college football team in the land that year.

So, basically this Appy State arguement means they would've finished second in the Big 10, pretty stupid comment, huh. Like several others on here.

Can't blame the guy for wading out of the shallow end of the pool and into deeper water. :D

I want to make a few comments but I can't seem to get past the word "debate". How can you even debate this? The SEC is miles ahead of the Big Ten this season.
