January 8, 200818 yr Author Won't happen. They play USC in their third game and if they don't make serious upgrades, it'll be a replay of the Rose Bowl. You never know... they could get out of the Big 10 undefeated

Big Ten looks mighty small: Ohio State, like most of brethren, falls short in end NEW ORLEANS -- OK, a lack of speed, you could understand. That had been one of the story lines coming into the BCS title game, that Ohio State had not been blessed with the type of blazing speed LSU possessed. But what led to the Buckeyes' 38-24 loss to LSU on Monday night had little to do with their inability to get from Point A to Point B the fastest, according to some Tigers. They said Ohio State's downfall had to do with a lack of toughness. I would advise everyone to seek shelter immediately because Woody Hayes is about to send down some lightning bolts. "We played a lot tougher teams, mentally tougher," LSU safety Harry Coleman said. "When they got down, they shut it down." And just in case you're not getting the picture here, Coleman said, "They didn't fight like an SEC team would do." All of this was said in the swell of victory, of course, when bravado has a way of bubbling over but … ouch. Ohio State? Woody's program? Not tough enough? Three yards and a cloud of surrender? Good Lord.
