Highlands will take care of their business in 5A, I suggest Trinity should take of theirs in the private 6A game.:thumb:

I got to watch some game tape of BG last night. They look to be a good team with speed and some good size. I notice that several player's go both ways. The last few team's that HHS played tryed this also. Hope that Highlands conditioning pay's off in the game. How many play both way'?(Qb,RB,TE,WR's, and a couple of linemen were the one's I saw)

I do think they'd beat Trinity. Let me correct myself, I think Highlands could definitely play with Trinity and if Trinity would win, it would be nothing like a 21 point margin. In some years, I'd say Trinity's depth would cause us some problems although Trinity does not play the smash mouth, wear you down offense that causes problems for teams that don't have the depth that Trinity does.

 

And Sweep, you are exactly correct. We need to concentrate on BG, not Trinity. Thanks for bringing a little reality to this debate.

Sounds like the Purples are awfully confident that they have the situation under control.

 

I love the Denny Green quote Coach Wallace threw in there... “So really, they are what we thought they were.”

 

I just hope that they are better prepared for the challenge this year. In the LexCath game, they must have had at least 5 turnovers in the first half for the huge hole they dug for themselves. I didn't go to last year's game, but they seemed unprepared then from what I heard. I just hope, for the life of me, that they can give a showing that truly represents Bowling Green football. All the predictions of BG getting blown out are deserved no matter how ticked they make me because we haven't played football representative of a state runner up let alone a state champion the previous two years. I would like to think that those players who are going to the carpet for the 3rd year in a row can leave with tears of joy instead of anguish. It'll be another huge challenge, I just hope we are ready this year. Time will tell.

 

 

And yes, alot of of us BG alums do get sensitive about our mascot because we have heard all the wisecracks before. I've been hearing Barney and Grimace jokes for the last 17 years and counting. It's a little old and stale at this point. We are tired of explaining what a Purple is. Hopefully, you'll find out on Friday. If not, we'll live to play again.

You're trying to make a point to me with someone else's post; so I'm not following you at all.

 

If it's the post you quoted that offends you, I believe bulldogtech was using Trinity to make a point about the relative strengths of HHS and Bowling Green. In that regard, the post is relevant to the thread.

Bluebird Fans, I have said this since the Ryle game probably the best Highlands Team I have seen in a long time and I have been around since 1965.

Just do Northern Kentucky and FT Thomas proud just go out and win the

5A State Championship. Only worry about BG and no one else.
