I'm pulling for the Purples, but I voted for the Bluebirds. I think Highlands should be favored, and may be the better team, but Bowling Green is more than capable of pulling out a W. If Highlands struggles early or makes some mistakes (penalties/turnovers) then it just could be the Purples Day. Come on PUBLIC SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I am wrong, you can certainly correct me here. I do believe his comment was in response to a statement of 'we' would rather win a big game against Ohio than to win a championship. I do not think anyone has belittled the BG team, as a matter of fact I am pretty sure that everyone has talked about what a great season they have had and what a great opponent they will be this Friday.

 

You must not be reading the posts I am. The majority of the people on here continously post how we've fumbled away the last 2 state championships and will probably do the same because this is such a tough Highlands team. And most people haven't talked about our great season, but how our schedule is so weak and that's why we won't be prepared to win again. Forgive me for not believing your sincerity, but this is all I've been reading!This appears to be the general thought of most everyone from NKY on this site. Sure a few times people have said they saw BG on film and they are for real. But out of the other posts about BG, it's simply that we don't have enough to pull it off. I don't think many expected BG to be back this year. After losing 30 seniors (of whom 4-5 were Div I and 3 more to small colleges) we somehow made it back. These guys have accomplished something that some teams never will--they've been to 3 straight state championships. And yes, we know you've won 16....but in BG, KY where we've only won 1, getting back 3 years in a row is a great accomplishment! These kids suffered a terrible blow in July losing the heart and soul of the Purples' football team. It taught the kids (and adults) how life is about more than football. We are so fortunate to have been successful and while we may not be the powerhouse FTH is, we still have much to be proud of. Yes, I want these kids to win, but it's not the end of our world if they don't. And by reading the posts on here, I think that may not be the case with some of you!!

I have great respect for FTH, we know you're good, we know of your success and we have to play a perfect game to win. One last point....regarding BG's pressure to win since we've lost the last 2. What about the pressure you guys put on your team with all of these posts? If BG pulled off the miracle and won, I bet your team would hate facing you guys!! :lol:

Best of luck tomorrow and hopefully that Purple Spirit can pull us through!!

The rest of your post sounds like you want to simultaniously play the sympathy card and the underdog card. I doubt that the BG players will want to have either of these as their mindset.

Sorry if you misinterpreted what I was saying. Last December when drove home after losing (again) and said goodbye to 30 seniors, we never DREAMED we'd be back this year! My point is we are back and although not many are giving us a shot, I hope what happened this summer will give them strength to win one more. But if not, it's ok and the sun will come up on Saturday. They have much to be proud of, win or lose.

Choose to believe what you will, I could care less. I do believe HHS will win, but that does not mean that I think BG is 'going to fumble' anything away. If they do, all the better for us. However, from the true HHS fans I have seen on here, none of them have disrespected your team. If you have made it this far, you are a worthy opponent. Our coaches and team will tell you the same thing.

They will be welcomed with open arms and congratulated on their game, season, careers as HS football players and well respected men in our community! The state championship is expected every year. I believe every one of those young men would tell you however, if it does not happen the community supports them just the same.
