Sam Robey made the best hit I've seen this year. He has stepped up his game for the playoffs. "GO ROCKS"

Another Lexington 6A (or AAAA) pretender.

Trinity is just so hard to defend. Stein is so accurate, the line is solid, the WR are quick and Phillips is getting better.

Congrats to Trinity.

I was disappointed with Henry Clay. But was happy to be standing next to Brian Brohm when Stein broke his school record. He just smiled!

Don't look now...

Great win Rocks. 3 down, 2 to go.

HC scores first and last... T puts up 50 in the middle. I was impressed with the efficiency of the O and the intensity of the D. HC is a good team, but I do not think their wr is a 4 star player.

I was vastly disappointed in Henry Clay. I expected a tough game and was sorely mistaken. Lexington football just wasn't very good this year (not that it's been good in the past either).

Henry Clay's players played tough but they couldn't overcome their coaching staff. HC ran a defense that appeared to be like Male's cover zero, except they didn't press all the receivers. Thus, Trinity scored deep every time they wanted to. Whoever decide to go with that defensive scheme against Trinity should go elsewhere.

At the end of the half, HC has 2 timeouts and the ball on their own 45 with 1:00 to go. A timeout is called on 3rd and 2 and they run a qb draw and get the first down. HC's staff then calls timeout??? The clock is stopped on a first down and they just came out of a timeout. They then throw a swing pass where the rb gets tackled in bounds and the clock expires.

At halftime, Henry Clay didn't even make it back on to the field in time for the kickoff. They got one delay of game penalty, and almost got a second one. The players didn't get a chance to warm up or stretch after halftime.

Rocks are really rolling and have 2 more to go for 18.

Did conventional wisdom have Henry Clay as the third best team in 6A? Trinity feasted on the Lexington schools this year. That RB for Clay (Gay?) was a tough runner. The big receiver Boyd did not have a good game. The QB made some nice runs but did not throw the ball exceptionally well. Trinity will need to step it up to D to stop Boone and their runner Farris.

Yes. HC was undefeated versus Kentucky opponents this year, with their only loss coming to a vaunted GCL member LaSalle. :scared:

Great assesment. For the record the head man calls the "d".

I echo your analysis .......in retrospect I was in error to take them so seriously. The halftime debacle was the worst I have seen in some time. Felt sorry for the kids.....coaching staff really let them down. Inexcusable. Youth league teams manage half time better than this group did. (Sentiment on the Rock side was that "they were not coming out for the2nd half."

Also,,did not think some of HC players pre-game antics of "prancing around " served them well either. Don't do it if you can't maintain it.

GReat win Rocks............maintain your focus on next week. :dancingpa :dancingpa

Lexington football is just nowhere near Louisville football. Period.

I know, but I thought this year was different. Based on some posters and the head coach's comments, this was HC's best team, with the best o-line in the state.

The best team in Lexington is usually that little school on Clays Mill

Agreed, 2 safeties on a rickshaw 20 yards off of the LOS, facing their own endzone would've been more effective than the defense they ran tonight.
