Class 6A Playoffs: #2 Trinity vs. Oldham County Predictions/Updates
11:11 left in 1st half, 35-0. I am making a wish for no injuries for either squad.

Trinity/Cooper Updates (KOB Semifinal)
Your money should take a look at Scrubb, he is also pretty tough.

Trinity/Cooper Updates (KOB Semifinal)
They went 1-3-1 in the first half except for m2m on 1st possession of 2nd. Trinity played 4-out & had guys standing in the seams. No dribble penetration, but lots of open 3s.

NFHS urges college and pro teams to recognize Friday as 'High School Football Night'
Friday night NCAA games are tied to expensive, antiquated cable TV contracts & that's hurting these networks - the NFHS could come through with the coup de grace with a nationwide OTT offering of regional HS games of interest that crushes some college game between 2 mid-majors that is attractive in only a few TV markets & the rest of the country could give a rip about.

Agreed, "a rising tide lifts all boats."

"Bluegrasspreps.com Game of the Week" Trinity 59 Male 56 (2002)
A staggering array of numbers here: http://www.khsaa.org/football/2002/class4a.htm Male ran 89 offensive plays & made 41 first downs in a 48-minute game, went 8-12 on 3rd down & 7-10 in the red zone. And it wasn't quite enough to win. A truly incredible effort by both teams. :thumb:

6A: Trinity Shamrocks (13-1) vs. Simon Kenton Pioneers (10-4) Predictions
Touche' And may your cup of hot chocolate Saturday night be half-full rather than half-empty

6A: Trinity Shamrocks (13-1) vs. Simon Kenton Pioneers (10-4) Predictions
It means that they're the two best teams still playing in 6A. After watching St X muster a terrific 3rd quarter & then playing to a stalemate in the 4th on Friday, I have a hard time believing that SK will beat Trinity over three quarters. Trinity by 4+ TDs, just don't call me late for dinner.

6A: Trinity Shamrocks (13-1) vs. Simon Kenton Pioneers (10-4) Predictions
Nice playoff run by SK but Trinity wins easily, a la the T-Ryle final game a few years ago. Come to think of it, this feels like the T-Ryle final thread from a few years ago LOL.

PRP/St.Xavier
I hit the wrong button up there, I probably need my eyes checked...St X 45-7.
-
Trinity 34 St. Xavier 28 (OT)
St X's kids had a terrific season & put up a valiant effort in the title game. Congrats to the Rocks on bringing home the hardware, the dynasty continues. Trinity may need to start raising money for a second rotunda over there. "Darth" Beatty must be really good as the underdog, I can't imagine how good he would be if he had a chance to coach the "better team" just one time

Trinity 50 Henry Clay 14 (6A)
Agreed, 2 safeties on a rickshaw 20 yards off of the LOS, facing their own endzone would've been more effective than the defense they ran tonight.

Trinity Radio Call....
Well, that was a batting practice fastball right in your wheelhouse LOL. I didn't listen to the broadcast, but I saw what XgradROCKdad saw. The officials threw a flag for holding & I was thinking "how was that one any different than the last 10 alleged non-holds??"

Trinity 39 Bowling Green 28
Bowling Green was tough, they were very well prepared & their kids put in a great effort. The Rocks started slowly but still managed 38 points, Phillips really delivered the mail at the end of the game. Some of the T tackling was pretty iffy tonight. I also had the good fortune of meeting Mr & Mrs Purple Haze before the game, which was a real treat, they're terrific people. I'm sure they're very proud of the BG kids. And it was very cool to have LSURock honored before the game, a very nice touch. A great evening all of the way around :thumb:

Comments by Male High's Basketball coach regarding two sport stars.
Amen OR. People don't want to hear it, but the truth is that the very best thing 99% of these athletes could do in the off-season to ensure getting a college scholarship is to get stellar grades & take a good ACT or SAT prep course. It's very selfish & transparent for some coach to push a high school kid to quit a sport that he enjoys playing. Whatever you go on to do (or not do) with your life, you still only get one chance to be a high school athlete. So do it all, if you want.

4A State Championship: Trinity 41 Ryle 7
Congrats on #17 Rocks, their final 4A title. The football program represents the school so well, in many ways :thumb: Great effort this year by Ryle, they definitely have an opportunity to build on some success there & work towards a 6A title.
-
Enquirer-Ryle's 1st Title Within Reach
I'm not surprised that they feel like it's their year, they've lost twice all year...that makes perfect sense. Good for them. But it feels like it's our year too, though.

Trinity 38 Male 34
I hear you, Larry. Your post looks fine to me. You have a son & his teammates that you should be very proud of, you obviously are. They put together a great run but that is only part of the story. == But I can't let this "best team" nonsense go. Yeah, that "best team" comment slays me as well  If that's the case, then Beatty must just be the coach of the year the last couple of years in 4A if he can miraculously keep winning playoff games with something other than the best team every year...right? If you're going to say that T doesn't have the best team, then you have to give the guy his due  I'm having a lot of fun rooting for the 16-time state champion "underdogs." Just respect your opponents & keep playing like you have something to prove, boys.
