Congrats to the ROCKS on a great win! As I stated earlier in the week that HC would in no way score 35 points on the Rocks defense, as the game played out, it would have been only 7 if we had the starting defense in the game during HC' 4th quarter score. IMHO, The glaring difference between these two teams comes down to preparation and dicipline... BIG Gap!! Also, what is it with the HC player pregame antics! I'm not going to name numbers, but I think anyone at the pregame knows what I'm talking about. Pretty silly to me!

It was an hour before the game. Before the Rocks took the field. HC was the only team on the field. A HC player did what I would describe as a Gorilla skip (no disrespect intended) waving his very large biceps and hopping along the HC sideline, then along the Sherran Ave goaline, then down the Trinity sideline and then down the 50 yardline. He didn’t have his helmet on, so you could see the different faces he was making. The two people I was with at the time thought he should save it for game. Just a side note: IMHO! I watched his performance during the game and was not impressed...

If it was the same player I saw agree totally. He was not the only one with the pregame 'show." Also agree that it was too bad the playing peformance didn't justify the 'antics." Another poster perhaps said it best when they described "discipline."

Speaking of discipline, has anyone else ever seen a delay of game penalty after halftime? I thought HC was never going to come back out, then only two players showed up and lined up for the kickoff. The official stood over the ball for 10 minutes after throwing the flag, while our guys just stood there. "Z" should of kicked it anyway.

You gotta be kidding me? Did they think it was a class trip and they were next in line to go up the Washington Monument? Oh, that's right this was their first ever football game -now I understand.:eek::eek:

Not to ask a dumb question but I have never paid attention during this time of the game to officials. Do they go and get a team for 2nd half?

Typically, the the officials will give a "3 and 3" sign to the teams. "3 and 3 means you have 3 minutes to get on the field and 3 minutes to warm up. However, the referee will give this to the first coach looking person that they encounter close to the door of the locker room. In college the offiicial stays there and walks the team out. I don't know the situation that happened on Friday but I gotta believe that a 3rd round game crew sent someone to tell them, whether that was an assistant coach who failed to convey that to the head man. I agree with X grad that the liability issue of not warming up. I don't want to speculate as to where it broke down since I wasn't there.

I will tell you that football coaches that are trailing are not the happiest people in the world and putting a delay of game penalty on top of it probably will scratch the officials from Coach Simpsons Christmas card list.

Generally the protocol would be for a game official to come to the locker room with three mins. left on the clock. They do it every week in Jeff. Co. But, Beatty is smart to have an asistant monitor the situation. You shouldn't count on anyone else to monitor for you.
