Okay, I over-reacted a bit last night and you veterans put me in my place. Congratulations Birds and good luck down state. Clearly the better team, coach and program won. Coach Brossart is a first class individual and I have great respect for him. I am also in the minority of CCH fans who believes Coach Mueller is a great guy.

HHS players were well prepared and focused--Great win and good luck. I bleed CCH blue and feel that HHS played the entire game with class. CCH seniors great careers and you have a banner on the wall at CCH for a state championship you helped win. HHS bring it home to NKY and we will see you next year.

Couldn't agree with you more but will give the Coach and his staff the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully they learned alot this year and will be better prepared next year. The CCH coaching staff needs to take a hard look at how to gameplan to be less predictable and more effective. While CCH isn't this vanilla and they do like the sweep, it is almost like up the middle, up the middle, pass, punt when you watch them. Any team can figure that out!

I didn't realize the "JET SWEEP" migrated to Park Hills....:D Didn't seem as effective for the Blue Colonels though....

#1 is Jay Von Lehman. I don't know him but I did see him working his tail off in the spring and summer. I thought I heard he was interested in attending a service academy.

This rivalry is just great high school football! Passion and pride on both sides, (and a lot of respect, even if some won't admit it). Tears and hurt feelings for the losers; screams and dancing for the winners....every game, every year, whomever it is! It was painful..(at one point, a fellow Colonel fan behind me said, "I think they switched that cannon to semi-automatic!") ... let's not whine...it always feels different when you're on the down side of this thing...we're really all not that different.

 

This year, it's the Birds without a doubt. Dominating performance at every facet. The Colonels did us all proud this year with a lot of blanks to fill in and a relentless schedule, I commend you on a great effort all year! HHS is simply better this year, and they came to play. Let's just tip our hats and root for an NK Sate Title....good luck Birds.

You are absolutely right! We had that feeling last year as the CovCath juggernaut got 2 wins on us! I'm sure if you go back and re-read the posts from last year's game it would just be reversed...CovCath gloatin' and HHS cryin'. It's part of the joy of being respected/feared.

:thumb: I sure did enjoy that! 63, 59 (who is that guy?),51,54,55,13, and 29 are the game MVPs. Someone else can mention the D as they were equally as awesome! The Bluebirds were really impressive. In all aspects of the game Off, Def, and specials. I was really impressed with the sportsmanship by both teams and fans. it was really a treat to bring my young son out to watch the game.

I think Special Teams was Great last night, we kicked it inside the 10 and held them inside the 20. With some big hits!!

I've been trying to put into words just what the Cov. Cath/Highlands game is all about. Well, this post sums it up perfectly.

 

Cudos to the Cov. Cath. players and especially the Seniors on a hard fought season. You adjusted to a new coaching staff and you played hard with one of the toughest schedules in the state.

Well I think its safe to say that Cov Cath was completely OUT COACHED this cov cath staff is a complete joke, in my opinion. The offensive play calling was terrible, you can't run the same jet sweep three times in a row, and when your down by 21 in the second half you have to throw the ball a little bit. Come On!!! I will give credit where credit is due to highlands, they are a very good football team. I just don't understand how you put yourself in third and long situations. Why not run a simple hitch or out pattern on 2nd and 9 instead of 3rd and 9, no they decide to call a dive play that gets stuffed in the backfield on 2nd. These CCH players worked to hard to have this type of staff!
