Congratulations Birds! Never expected such a dominating win although I felt a lot better when I actually saw LN predict a win that was more than a 3 point spread.

All is right in the world tonight.

Not really surprised at all. CCH was simple overmatched by the Birds this year.

 

Buckley, Furnish and the seniors have nothing to hang their heads about, they will always have that state ring.

Hope the player who was hurt on the free kick run back is ok. I think he was #19. There were some big hits on that play.

 

Anyone know what the penalty was on that play? Unsportmanlike conduct? Personal foul?

Wow! I absolutely didn't expect this kind of a score! These game have almost always been close. I think the failure of Cov Cath's first drive, followed by the quick Highlands TD made all the difference.

 

Cov Cath came out looking great on their opening series, but came up empty. The Birds took over and marched right down on 8 yds/carry and punched in the first one. They scored again after a Cov Cath. fumble deep in their own territory. From then on, it was not in question. Cov Cath ended the night with five turnovers.

5 fumbles for CCH....that doesn't help your cause when you're the underdog.

Congrats to the Colonels, the way their season started they could have packed it in early. Instead they kept their heads high and played like the defending state champs the 2nd half of the season! Good luck to the Colonel Seniors on whatever path you choose from this point on! You all played with heart and determination and I'm sure you have made the Cov Cath faithful proud. The Birds are a better team for having played you.

Well said WhoozYoDaddy! This match-up, regardless of which school wins, prepares the winner to represent northern Kentucky at the pizza box. The two teams just play at another level, year in and yeat out!

I want to second that. It was a high-spirited and rowdy game; but well played and well behaved all around.
