Well I think its safe to say that Cov Cath was completely OUT COACHED this cov cath staff is a complete joke, in my opinion. The offensive play calling was terrible, you can't run the same jet sweep three times in a row, and when your down by 21 in the second half you have to throw the ball a little bit. Come On!!! I will give credit where credit is due to highlands, they are a very good football team. I just don't understand how you put yourself in third and long situations. Why not run a simple hitch or out pattern on 2nd and 9 instead of 3rd and 9, no they decide to call a dive play that gets stuffed in the backfield on 2nd. These CCH players worked to hard to have this type of staff!

 

I don't know if I want to say they were out coached because I hate bashing coaches, but I do agree that I noticed they were running the same 3 or 4 plays continuously (sweep motion, dive/slam, and short passes). It took me back to the 2004 Highlands offense in that sense. Though it doesn't work every time, it is always dangerous. With that said, it would not be my choice of a "go-to" play.

Nice job Birds. Don't ease up now. Keep the accelerator down and take it to LCC.

They also put in numerous hours and spend a tremendous amount of time away from their own kids. Maybe they didn't call the right plays or maybe the game plan did not work, but it still comes down to one simple thing...the kids still have to make the plays. Friday night things did not work out. That is life. If you feel you can do a better job. Get a teaching degree and take a low paying job, put in all the extra hours and get out there and show us your stuff! It is a game...sometimes you win and sometimes you don't, but let's not forget...these guys are good people and the players are just kids. We are the adults...let's try acting as such.

Excellent!!! I think if you took what they make for coaching and divide it by the hours they put in no one would work for that low of a wage unless they are dedicated to helping athletes do their best. They are first and foremost teachers, and try to teach football to their charges. All they can do is teach. Friday night is a weekly test for the athletes and they are kids taking their test in front of everyone. Both deserve a lot praise and our support.

I'm not surprised that our leaders on the team had a great game...Cecil, Hurtt, Ball, Stine, Simons, Fitz and Connor. But there are a few players that deserve some recongnition for their outstanding play: Oliver Head made several tackles on special teams, Michael labor (D-LINE) had another great game with a couple of sacks and constant pressure on the QB. Brandon Roller played one of the best games I've seen him play. He created two forced fumbles, one tackle for lost yardage, assist with Hurtt for a safety and then moved to fullback to stuff a blocker that allowed Conner to score. Most players can play a good game against a lesser opponent but it takes a special player to step-up and play against a good team!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Great observation NCBird. And what about Terry O'Brien's blocking on the pitches. That was some of the best blocking by a receiver that I've ever seen. Absolutely studly.

Not bad for a kid that was being used a tight end early in the year and then being moved to slot...but we all know that the Tight End position is the most skilled of the linemen. I would also like to mention Jurgens, Peko, Frost, Bathiany and Dowling!!!

Dang.... you runn'n for Mayor? You got my vote. The "W" Friday night was a TOTAL TEAM effort.

 

Including a great game plan by Coach Dale and his talented staff. They do not get enough credit for all the good things that are taking place with the BIRDS this season. We are all very fortunate in Ft T. to have such a dedicated group of men teaching and coaching our boys!

Oliver did make some good hits on special teams, but that was because of the other players shutting down the lanes, so it is a team effort! :ylsuper:Also when someone picks up a fumble, another player again most likely caused it. Great Job Birds on a Great Team Win!!!

I totally agree with what you are saying, unfortunately I haven't had enough time to look at everyone on the film... The ones mentioned just seem to stand out a bit more than some others. The only bad thing about mentioning certain players is that you always leave other names out and your right it is a team effort!!!
