And I doubt that they, Johnson Central, will have a definitive answer by Friday from the KHSAA.

LOL I guess both of you are right about that. I guess I was thinking about what SHOULD happen if the kid legitimatley moved there.

I am real good friends with this family and I can tell you that the move was legitimate. They are originally from that area and have a lot of family that still lives there. I would be the first one to stand up in front of the KHSAA and tell them that this kid should be okayed to play for JC. We definately miss him in McCreary Co. but me and this young man's father is real good friends and I have talked with him extensively about this move (before the fact) and his wife's parents live in the area and they wanted to move close to them. I tried to find a reason for them to stay in McCreary Co. but there is nothing more important than family. If the KHSAA doesn't release this young man and rule that there was no infraction then they are ignorant of what a just ruling is all about. I will just say good luck to this young man, his family and to Johnson Central.

As I understand it, the school the kid transfers to is supposed to wait on the go ahead from the KHSAA before playing the player. As a matter of fact, each kid that transfers is supposed to sit a year unless a waiver is granted. I assume JC applied for that waiver. Did they just not wait on the answer or what?

You never know what they will do. I seen some strange things. Ruling wise.

Great post! I was told today that this is just a paper work error and when it's all said and done he will be cleared to play again. There's so many rumors going around about this but Bronco99 and a few other posters on here hit the nail right on the head about this matter. I certainly hope you're right. It would be awful to penalize all the kids and coaches from Johnson Central, and all the hard work they've put in toward such a great season on what seems like a clerical error. :thumb:

I would have to think that a ruling would have to be made by the end of next week so the teams can know what team they need to prepare for. It sounds like it's not going to be that big of a deal though.

If they don't rule by next week, then JC will enter the playoffs as a #2 seed. Even if they have to later forfeit regular season games, it won't affect playoffs.

 

If they rule before next week, then any forfeits will affect the district standings as well and change the playoff seedings.

 

What I don't know is what if the KHSAA rules this week and it is against JC. Then JC gets a temporary court injunction to overturn it? Not sure what their seed would be or how that would play out down the road.

 

I guess we need to wait and see what the KHSAA rules before we go to far in the "what if" game.

Did they think the kid was there for athletics only and was commuting from McCreary to JC everyday???

Well I have had about enough speculation into what is going on. I am going to give my opinon of the whole situation as best I can because I need to get this off my chest.

 

Ok, JC is accused of using as ineligible player. We are all aware of that! Now, if JC is found to be at fault, (which I can't see that) than they deserve whatever punishment they recieve.

 

Now, I have a thought for you posters. It is obvious that someone outside of JC has made the KHSAA aware of the situation. They have accused JC of violating these rules, thus looking for sanction against JC. The KHSAA has informed JC of these alligations and given them a timeline to respond.

 

Well this is what I think! In a court of law the most hardened criminals have had the right to meet the people who have accused them of their crimes. The accused have the right to look their accusers in the eye. I for one believe that the KHSAA should have to provide documentation to the accussed of not only the violations but also who is accusing them of those violations.

It is sad to me that other schools can hide behind the KHSAA when they accuse other schools of breaking rules. It is also sad the school or schools accusing JC does not have the character to make it known that they have accuesed them.

I respectively disagree. It is the right of all of us to report any alleged wrong doings to the KHSAA. Not sure what good it would be for JC to know who or whom the accuser are/is... Are you thinking retaliation? Don't think that would be quite ethical.

 

I trust JC will satisfy the KHSAA and all will be back to normal in Eastern Kentucky in a matter of weeks.
