I don't know why anyone cares about the accuser. If JC has thier stuff in order than it is know big deal. If they don't, then they have a problem.

As I stated before everyone from the Adminstrator on down to the head coach knows what the proceedures are and how this can be an issue every year it seems is beyond me.

You know, may be I am wrong. I just get upset when people who think they are hurting the school are actually hurting a kid or kids much more. I just don't like to see any kid hurt. I have thought long and hard about this and I can see where it probably wouldn't be a good thing for the KHSAA to name the accuers of schools. I do like the idea of a few posters though. That if found innocent of those charges those schools who have accuessed should be punished.

 

Also, even if the KHSAA doesn't let it be known who the accuers are, if you lay low they will tell on themselves. That goes with anything in life I suppose.

Very good statement!! As time goes by you will see how much it is. I agree there shouldn't be punishment to kids playing a game. Use your motivation to help come up with a better way and bring your thoughts to light to the KHSAA.

I respectfully disagree. Obviously the reason for that is the KHSAA thinks that if the accuser is made public, there would be a lot less accusations. The KHSAA rarely will make the accused school any 'trouble' unless they have just cause to do so. If we think there are a lot of private school accusations now, wait until the KHSAA is not informed to prove them otherwise...

 

Side note: That's a BGP record. I defended the KHSAA AND private schools all in one post...

 

There would clearly be less false, baseless, and harrassment complaints if you had to stand up and state your case rather than being able to hid in the shadows. It is too easy to cause a rival problems and some tend to keep a hotline open to KHSAA. If you must display your complaint in the light of day, you would be much more likely to have some concrete evidence before you act.

 

Otherwise, all we have is a few valid complaints and a lot of spineless tattle tails and trouble makers.

 

It just seems that due process would require such an approach.

However, if these complaints are found to be correct, well then they should be brought to light.

The school that the kid goes to is responsible for having everything in order before they allow this student play in any kind of sports. All releases from other school have to be in hand and on file. All paperwork from the KHSAA has to be in hand and signed. The KHSAA will send the school the release paper to the school of where the student is now going. If the school doesn't wait for this release then they are at falt. This is why you make sure everything is together before you allow a student to play sports for your school. Especially if they have moved there from another county. Every school knows this, every coach knows this, every adminstrator knows this. How this thing can continue to happen is beyond me.

 

I am not aligned with JC but nevertheless, the priorities for the KHSAA should begin with the child's best interest which, ultimately, isn't their responsibility, and then whether the school's athletic activities gave them an advantage, etc., instead of attempting to determine the degree of advantage, or lack thereof, before seeking to determine whether the child's transfer to another school was legimate, even if it requires the Kentucky Board of Education to amend their policy in this respect, thereby placing the most important decision in the hands of the education professionals. Then, if someone still files a complaint with the KHSAA, the KHSAA should then contact the KBE for confirmation as to whether a child has met the KBE's transfer requirements, before the need for their involvement becomes necessary. This initial step should be the responsibility of the KBE, not the KHSAA, whether this may or may not be popular with either entity! :eek: Then, only after such decisions are made by the KBE, should the KHSAA begin their involvement with athletics which should be, after all, their sole responsibility. This would also eliminate any complaints the KHSAA would be responsible for regarding eligibility.

Maybe the kid cares! He didn't get to play Friday night! If you had only seen this kid and the sadness on his and his family's faces you would know why it's important to not make these baseless complaints! It broke everyone's heart that knows this family!

Obviously the coach isn't confident enough that JC did everything that is required by the KHSAA in a transfer case and felt that it was better to sit him. This way JC is in the playoffs. I'm sure that if the coach knew that they had dotted all the I's and crossed all the T's in reguards to a transfer, the kid would have played.

He was ruled eligible and cleared to play before the season started. Then an anonymous tipster called the KHSAA to file a complaint.

It doesn't matter if you know your right or not, you do what the KHSAA says. They received the papers on Thursday saying he was ineligible at this time, so why risk the whole season???
