How many public middle school football teams are there in Jeffereson Co? The correct answer is NONE. St X coaches have free reign to visit optimist leagues and the catholic leagues where all the football players come from. I just think the response is poor and misleading.

 

Last time I checked, there were more sports than just football. While JCPS may not offer football, they do offer other sports, such as soccer and basketball, and St. X's policy is that their coaches are not allowed to attend those contests as representatives of St. X. I don't think that's misleading at all.

I know most of you on BGP are Private School Supporters :fight: and feel the need to demonize :fire: someone from the public side, but what in the world does Mr. Sears have to do with this thread?

I don't think I have ever been called a Private School supporter on here before and wonder how many of my former debators got a chuckle out of someone referring to me as one.

 

It was an innocent comment specifically aimed at one poster that I know holds Mr. Sears in high regards.:sssh:

 

And any Public/private discussion, Mr. Sears has put himself right in the middle of as he has become the champion for this topic.

Sears (I will not call him mister as I reserve that for people I respect) is for better or worse the face of the current round of anti-private school sentement and as such will likely be brought up whenever public/private is brought up.

 

On a side note there's no way you convince me that Sears hasn't already planned a "see I told you so" speech after this article.

This is for another thread but there is no doubt in my mind if you ran the numbers the majority of BGP members are public schools supporters.

It's a poorly written article and I don't like how Duece was named in it, as it alludes to some sort of improper handling of his situation. If the author feels the need to include his name and his father, then he should have attempted to get a quote from them about why he chose to go where he did.

 

All in all, it's nothing more than a contorversial article based upon zero hard facts, designed to sell a paper. The story is the second most read article on the online edition, so it's serving its purpose.

 

That said, if any allegations are true and this is in fact a coach, Donhoff will rightfully let them go.

 

That's what ticks me off. They failed to mention that Deuce went to a Catholic grade school, and also played here in Louisville for the CSAA, man I hate shady journalism.

I have a son who wants to go to TMS or Barrett and on to Male. He plays sports and and if he turns out to be pretty good at sports I don't want anyone from any school talking to him.

 

We have to appy by January 4th to see if he gets selected. A/B student.

 

If not selected we can try every year while in middle school. Still not in we will be fine where ever we choose

 

The above always makes me wonder how Tony Driver ended up at Male....just baffles me really.

This is what I mean when I say we have to define "recruiting"..... I dont have the answer to satisfy all parties, but, somehow, somewhere, all sides need to come to an agreement of what is acceptable and what is not.

 

To be honest....I don't think it is in the KHSAA's "best interests" to fully answer the recruiting if you know what I mean.

I agree 100% with you and many others in this thread. The CJ has stooped to a new low in this article.

 

As most of you know I don't live in the greater Louisville area but if I did there is no way I would send my kids to any Greater Clark County Schools with leaders like Bennett and Valentine going to the media with unsubstantiated rumors. What is even worse, they accuse St. X of wrong doing but they throw Trinity under the bus for good measure. What a joke, no wonder the good ones leave.

 

Actually I think what the Clark County "leaders" did, could hurt themselves, in that some level headed folks over there now might realize how poorly their youth is being "lead" . . .
