CC Purple hosts Twenhofel on Friday night. Should be a good game.

Did these teams play in the CC tourny?

I am looking forward to the Sharp MS/Highlands match-up Monday night. Nice game at Highlands when the two teams played the first time. If PC comes out the way they are capable of, they could win this by 8+, but the whole team needs to get involved early. If not this will be a real battle!

Well, I will respect your opinion playing at home but the Birds were lacking a starter in that game and their 2nd kid off the bench. They are back but now they are without their point guard so it will be difficult to win but they are playing very well right now. I expect it to be a 4 pt game that could go either way. Highlands is too athletic in the paint with McCoy, True, Christian and Witte and Turner are stepping up at the guard spots handling a lot of the scoring and assist. With that said, they will have to contain Monroe and not let a 4th or 5th kid get open looks like they did last game. The Harper kid really hit the big baskets in that first matchup, I expect the Birds to find him and keep him out of the paint. The job they did on Racke the other night was very good and physical. Good luck to both teams !!

Now I'm really confused. I know 83Birds and he has no reason to run any ads in any publication. Either I don't get an inside joke or your mistaken about who you are posting about.

There was a full page ad inviting all NKY 8th graders to Highlands open house...

Scott County Middle continued its impressive run in both 7th and 8th tonight with wins over Harrison County. The 7th grade improved to 15-0 while the 8th grade is 14-1 (13 wins in a row), having avenged their only loss last week. The 7th grade has been dominate and were expected to have a great season, while the 8th grade just keep getting it done night after night with hard work and determination.

But, here is the most amazing part IMO. Scott County, Georgetown and Royal Spring (the 3 middle schools in Scott County) are a combined 43-10 in conference play when you count both 7th and 8th grade (by the way, they are 22-4 in 8th grade with all but one loss coming against each other). Just think, all 3 schools feed into one high school. The future will continue to shine bright at Scott County.

6th grade Purple beat Twenhofel 33 - 11. What happened in the 8th grade game?

Wow, that is a lot of points. Tough loss for the Purple but a nice quality win for the Thoroughbreds from Twenhofel.

It was a good game, Twenhofel was up about ten the whole game then almost let it slip out from under them. #20 for CC, who is a real good ball player, hit 1-2 from the line to put it in to overtime with .7 seconds left. A lot of bad bad calls, but overall the teams kept their heads and played well. #20 for CC ended with 19 when he fouled out and #30 for Twenhofel had close to the same. Norton also got a lot of PT for Twenhofel.

Meece Middle (Somerset) took 2 out of 3 from Southern Middle (Southwester) today at Southwestern High. The 6th and 7th grade Jumpers won easily while the 8th grade Warriors defeated the Jumpers by 2.

Clinton county's School 6th grade team won a thriller over Lexington Catholic in ot at the KBA today. They lost their 2nd game to the AAU northern Ky Wolfpack by 3. The bulldogs looked a little flat agaist the wolfpack after their thrilling win over Lex Cath but the wolfpack has a pretty nice team. The win over Lex Cath should establish Clinton County as one of the favorites in the 6th grade state tournament.

Franzen did enjoy beating CC purple. They're the only team Summit's 7th has lost to since they've been together. Summit has Holmes on Tues. and Blessed Sacrament on Thurs. If you are interested, I'll keep you posted. I'm #40 (Jacob Huesman's) Dad. As it stands right now, 4 of the starting 5 (including Mcclenden) are going to go to SK along with Twenhofel's team.

The KBA has posted some (not all) of the registered teams for the middle school state tournament. So far 17 teams have registered for the 6th grade, 14 for the 7th grade, and 20 for the 8th grade. I know there are quite a few more teams that have registered for the 7th and 8th grade that have not been posted yet.

It was one of the best MS games I have seen. CC fought to the end. McGovney (#20) played very well and Franzen had about 15 points also. Unfortunately, the CC purple bench is not real deep and it hurt them down the stretch.

Is 17 the official number for the 6th grade tourney?
