Kentucky 40 UofL 34

Featured Replies

UK rushed for 185 yards.

Some UL fan repeatedly said that no way UK runs for 200 yards against UL.

I guess we'll let him take some solace in them coming up 15 yards short.

Now you're saying to make it public! :irked: A poll won't reflect coaches opinions, only armchair quarterbacks. Enough already with this one.

Make it public only so you can see what group people fall in...

A poll won't reflect coaches opinions the only thing that does that is the games they coach... Which makes me wonder how long have you been watching football?

Just got home...I am beat....Awesome game to be at. The atmosphere was UNREAL. Kentucky played a great game, Louisville played a terrible game, simple as that. The defense is ridiculous. I really don't even have words for it. The Cats finally got their big win against the Cards. Congrats UK fans. :thumb: I'll be pulling for you guys the rest of the way.

Classy post Deuce. I looked for you on the field, but couldn't spot you in the middle of two bands...

I was in the row of bass drums....And it's definitely hard to spot somebody in that setting unless you know what you're looking for.

Great game by both teams. I heard some on the radio I had to work and will watch both (Bama) games on tape early this week. Stupid Railroad...work weekends.

Hogs play hard at home and Mcfadden is a horse.

Cards don't lose again this year.

That all depends on which railroad--and which job.......Bama looked good for most of the game yesterday!

I said to myself once "hey, I wonder if I'll see Deuce."

I then quickly said "how would I know?"

Going to that game was the best 5 bucks that I ever spent. Hands down best game I've been to for any sport ever. I'm still pumped from it.

I knew Deuce played bass drum, and had a preconceived notion of what he looked like...

Did any of the NKY folks notice DOHO knocking the helmet off of a UK defender near the goal line?

Wrong. Only chase points when it's necessary.

It is not chasing points...it is having the common knowledge to understand that a 1 point lead is just as good as a 2 point lead, but neither of the them are as good as a 3 point lead.

What you guys aren't trying to fathom is that even in defeating an arch nemesis Rich Brooks or Joker Phillips, whoever makes that call, made more than one bad decision last night.

Let's use a hypothetical situation. UK led at one point, 26-21, scoring their last 7 points on a TD by the FB which made the score 25-21 (4 point lead), and then kicked a field goal to lead by 5 points. What's the difference? Two field goals or a TD beats a 4 point lead and a 5 point lead.

Why not have the common sense to try & make sure that two field goals does not beat you? Especially when the team you're playing has the #1 kicker in the country on their side, and ours had already missed an EP during the game anyway.

If it's not in the final minute of the game you are chasing points. That's the downfall of numerous teams every week...

IMO it is only chasing when there isn't a mathematical reason to go for two.

Like after scoring your first TD, why go for 2 in that case. But if the other team does somehow happen to have 8 points (two field goals & a safety), wouldn't that be a good time to go for the two-point conversion after a TD?

I most definitely think so.

UK needs to force turnovers to win this ballgame. The UK defense made its reputation last year by the "bend but don't break" style. This wouldn't seem to work against UL because they tend to score from much further out than most teams due to their recieving core and accurate QB. I think we see the same UK defense that we saw in late last season against Clemson and Tennessee, and I think they will force 2 or 3 turnovers.

With the three-headed rushing attack that UK has in Little, Smith and Dixon I think they will be able to control the game and the clock just enough to be able to capitalize efficiently on these turnovers. I believe Woodson will show up huge in this game and provide one of his patented game managing efficient performances. This game will be back and forth into the fourth quarter, and I believe UK forces the last of their turnovers to seal the victory.

Kentucky 38

Louisville 34

Not too bad of a prediction, if I do say so myself.

This football game was the greatest sporting event I've ever been to in my life. Being a student at UK and being in the student section for this ballgame against your top 10 ranked in-state rival, and then to top it all off with a finish like that... Wow!

I could barely go to sleep last night because I was still so excited, and when I woke up this morning I was still grinning from ear to ear. I yelled for the Cats from kickoff till the final buzzer ad my voice is paying the price today.

Great game by the Cats yesterday! The better team clearly won the ballgame, and IMO Woodson proved that he is at least on the same level as Brohm if not better. Hopefully this propels Kentucky to even greater things this season and in seasons to come. This type of win is definitely a program building victory, so let's keep going in the right direction!

C A T S Cats! Cats!! Cats!!!

2 point attempts are converted at around 30% in the NCAA last time I saw the stats. It's chasing points and if you do it before the final minutes it will cost you more often than not...

Sure did. He was nice enough to pick it up and give it to him after the play too.
