September 17, 200718 yr I am not a huge college football fan but follow the rankings and watch the best games of each week. I thought after watching the game, UL was ranked too high and UK is better than most thought. It will be interesting to see how both teams come back after this classic game. I'm a hugh fan of college football, but not of pro football. College football is much more exciting to me. Give me Florida-LSU or Oklahoma-Texas anyday over any NFL game. NFL is somewhat better during the playoffs......which would help the college game if they ever decide to go to that format.
September 17, 200718 yr IF the NCAA ruled that Jason Taylor, Shawn Merriman, Champ Bailey, and Nate Clements each had another year of eligibility left, and they decided to come back and play at UK, UK would be a serious BCS contender this year.... Mans got a point.
September 17, 200718 yr Is Tamme a NFL-caliber TE? He was preseason top five so I'd say he will get his shot. He seems like the kind of kid that will work his tail off. He was always one of my favorites in high school.
September 17, 200718 yr I've been going to games since 1980 and last night was one of if not the best. I even got to touch the trophy, shake hands with Woodson and pick a little 50yd line grass for my boy+nephew. I am really proud of the kids and staff at UK along with the fans. As much as I don't like Louisville I will always be a Brohm fan. Classy and could have gone anywhere. Same goes for Bush. Great win for the Cats, anxious to see how it effects recruiting. The tide feels like it's turning in Lexington:)

Said it was the most exciting game at U.K. he had been to and the Crowd was awesome. A person could tell that in watching on t.v.. I can only imagine what it was like to be there. :ylsuper:
September 17, 200718 yr I totally agree...I've felt for a long time that Urrutia was overrated and last night really drove it home. Not only is Douglas the better collegiate player, but he'll be drafted higher and be a better pro, IMO. Douglas is fast, tough and can catch...he'd be a great slot guy in the NFL at the least. Urrutia is big and tall...that's it. He's slow, he drops too many passes and plays soft...he should be better with all the hype. I think his speed has improved dramatically since last year but he has terrible hands and focus.

September 17, 200718 yr Author So I just went to ESPN's college football page and couldn't find one word about the game... That's because it's on their front page... http://espn.go.com/ Pat Forde http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=3022318&sportCat=ncf&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab3pos1 Karma kisses Woodson, Kentucky in 40-34 stunner LEXINGTON, Ky. -- For the exceptionally tortured souls who are longtime Kentucky football fans, this was a familiar sight: Game on the line in Commonwealth Stadium, and a receiver suddenly, shockingly in the clear and catching the ball for the winning touchdown. Coverage breakdown. System failure. Victory dropping out of the sky where defeat had seemed inevitable. But the familiar sight came with a startling, intoxicating, rush-the-field twist: The receiver in the clear, the one catching the winning touchdown, was wearing a blue jersey. On this night, one of the best nights in the largely miserable history of Kentucky football, the heroic receiver making the jaw-dropping play was one Steve Johnson. The mostly nondescript senior streaked unbothered down the sideline and corralled a 57-yard thunderbolt from Andre' Woodson with 28 seconds left that delivered the Wildcats a 40-34 upset of the defensively deficient Cardinals. What visitors have done unto the luckless Wildcats so many times, the Wildcats finally have done unto somebody else. And not just anybody else: the ninth-ranked team in the country and their bitter rival. .... That's why some of the delirious fans who flooded the field were pulling up chunks of grass, to commemorate the night it finally ended right for the home team. That's why a guy ran up to me on the field and gushed, "Hey, write this down: This is the highlight of my life!" ... But to get to that final feeling, Kentucky had to endure a few more seconds. As long as there is time on the clock in this cursed stadium, the visitors have a chance.
