It was a crazy game to be at. The place was rocking. The game with back and fourth. It was just awesome. Found it funny though that up until the last quarter that the loudest erruption i heard was when BCG was announced to the crowd.

I did almost lose it at the end of the 1st half when on 4th down and 1 they decided to run an option with in immobile qb. Not only did they NOT get the first down, it gave UL the time to go down the field.

 

Perhaps the worst call of the night and one that could have cost them the game.

With 5 or 6 SEC teams currently in the top 25, just how tough is this conference going to be when one of their unranked teams defeats a top 10 team? I still think UL will win the Big East and UK for the first time in a long time will actually be competitive against the SEC's strongest teams.

 

The Cardinals better improve a whole lot if they're planning on winning the Big East...contrary to popular belief, the Big East is pretty tough and at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if U of L finished 3rd or 4th. I didn't think they'd finish above West Virginia when I expected Louisville to be better...now, I question how they'll do against Rutgers, South Florida and Cincinnati. I'm sure people won't like it, but that's just the way it looks right now. There are 4 teams in the Big East who have looked better than U of L.

Maybe, but it's a lot easier to get back in the picture at USC than it is at U of L...even you know that GT. Brohm's not completely done, but his chances are about slim as a "frog hair split four ways"...:lol:

I had a terrible night last night. My brother and I were to meet a friend at the stadium at 6:45. He was going to give us two tickets. He has 4 season tickets and he was giving two of them to us free. He met us in Richmond earlier in the day at the All A state golf tournament at EKU's course, but he had forgot the tickets in Lexington and didn't have them. He drew us a diagram of the stadium and told us where to meet him. Well, the way he drew the diagram it appeared we were to meet him at Gate 4, but today we discovered he actually meant Gate 9. Needless to say, we never did meet him. He was searching for us and we were trying to find him, and it didn't happen. And because the cell phones were going straight to voice mail (I suppose because of the overwhelming use from the 70,000 fans), we couldn't contact one another. He finally went into the stadium at 7:30, with our tickets with him. We sat in the parking lot for the duration of the game, and had to watch it on a small TV with some people still tailgating. And we missed one of the biggest games in UK's history. :cry:

How is being up 5 points any different than being up 4 points in football?

 

Either one means that two field goals or a TD put the other team has a one point lead. If you go for two and get it, two field goals by the other team tie the game.

 

 

By kicking for the two XP in the 1st two 2nd half touchdowns the Cats had a chance to kick for the win instead of kicking for a tie late in the game if they had gone for two and missed.

 

Let me break it down. The Cats scored the 1st TD of the 2nd half. If they had gone for two and missed their lead would have been 25-21 instead of 26-21. The Cards scored again, and the score would have been 28-25. The Cats score and the score is 32-28. The Cards scored and they would have kicked instead of going for two. The score would have been 35-32. The Cats would have had to kick a FG just to send it into OT, instead of kicking for the win. What advantage would have going for two early in the 2nd half have given the Cats?

Super Mario was the player that took the biggest draft hit and Anthony Allen will be a monster when all is said and done...

 

I totally agree...I've felt for a long time that Urrutia was overrated and last night really drove it home. Not only is Douglas the better collegiate player, but he'll be drafted higher and be a better pro, IMO. Douglas is fast, tough and can catch...he'd be a great slot guy in the NFL at the least.

 

Urrutia is big and tall...that's it. He's slow, he drops too many passes and plays soft...he should be better with all the hype.

Just got home...I am beat....Awesome game to be at. The atmosphere was UNREAL. Kentucky played a great game, Louisville played a terrible game, simple as that. The defense is ridiculous. I really don't even have words for it. The Cats finally got their big win against the Cards. Congrats UK fans. :thumb: I'll be pulling for you guys the rest of the way.

 

I would say the same thing if I were a Cardinal fan, but just so you know, as a UK fan I feel like the Cats made several mistakes, or they could have put this game out of reach...

 

1. Run a simple HB Dive with Little on 4th and 1 in the 2nd quarter instead of the option...there's a good chance we drive on down and score and don't leave U of L any time to score.

 

2. After we open the second half with a score, we could have been up 33-14...and then we give up a 100 yard kickoff return...inexcusable.

 

Both teams made mistakes and didn't capitalize on opportunities. The better team won, IMO. If the U of L defense gets right, that may change, but at this point in the season, I think UK has the better team.

Only 10 pages, I am disappointed.

A loss doesn't do in anyone's Heiman's hopes IF they weren't responsible for it. The Heisman doesn't go to the best player on an undefeated team or the best player on the National Champs. It goes to the best player in college football. While it is true that being on a team that wins 10-11 games makes a big difference I don't think that last night's game can be laid on Brohm's shoulders. He did go 28-43 for 366 Yards with 2 Touchdowns and an Interception. Had he thrown 3 picks or cost his team the game I would say his hopes are dashed but he's still in the race.

Wow, what a game! I think everything (and more) has already been said. My house erupted during the last TD and then the final play. It was great! It's a great day to be a Wildcat fan!
