They used too, I think somebody in Union complained about the noise and they had to stop.

Why would you need a cannon?

Farmer next to the field said his cows wouldn't give milk because of the cannon noise. He use to be a judge in the country soooo no more cannon.

Had to close Feldman's Dairy for the same reason.

*Cannons come first in these parts.

How small is Union anyway? I thought it was pretty well spread out there.

Small enough that a retired judge has enough land and clout to get a cannon silenced.

Highlands should be nice and hungry this year. I didn't realize this, but when looking back at HHS' previous W-L records, 2006 was the worst year for HHS since 1984... yikes!!! Now, I'm sure the case can be made that their very demanding schedule in 2006 caused the team to have a final record (7-5) that appeared worse than the team actually was. But, given that they got beat twice by CCH and then had to watch the Colonels hoist the state trophy in December, I'm sure these guys are eager to get on with the 2007 regular season and move on from last year!

With a "normal" schedule like Highlands played back in my days, Highlands would have been 10-2 last year. But your point is a good one and I'm sure these kids, like the kids on every past Highlands team, is very motivated to win state. And I'm sure the Ryle kids are motivated to lay one on the Birds.

They were 2-13 a few years ago.
