There's a reason Highlands coaching staff is at Highlands and Ryle's coaching staff is at.......well....... Ryle. :walk:

 Yeah we are a bunch of bottom dwelling, no-talent, half-hearted wannabes in Union.

Seriously rylepyle, you're embarrassing everyone associated with the school. No one with a pulse really believes Warner is a better coach than Mueller.

Thank You! Oh yeah, HHS by a lot. Way too fast all around and........better!

I may not have the best memory, but after the second loss to Cov. Cath. last year alot of the Bluebird faithful were questioning the coaching. Now a fresh season with a ton of talent and we have the second coming of Vince Lombardi. Tell me, was Cov. more talented last year or better coached.

Some were, I'm not sure a lot were. This place may have given the impression that a lot were, but that's not the case. And most of those on here questioning him really don't know much about football anyway :jump:; heck, some don't know anything about football. :jump: :jump:.

Heck, he may be a better, no one can know that for sure. But until he wins multiple state championships its kind of hard to argue that Warner is better.

The reason Highlands has the talent they have, year in and year out is because of the coaching. It works from the top down. The coaching staff at Highlands has a big hand in the way the Ft. Thomas Jr. Football league is run and coached. The coaches in the junior system instill the work ethic and dedication that will be expected at Highlands and every kid that comes through the program is ready to be a Bluebird by the time their 8th grade season is over. Even the ones that opt out of football or play for another school are better for having come through the system.

When the arrive at Highlands, Coach Barr starts them on the path to greatness and then Dale and his staff add the finishing touches. You have to admit, the system has worked for many, many years and shows no sign that it is slowing down. Can the same be said of the program at Ryle? No way.

Could not have said it better... the coaching staff takes all of the blame for all of the shortfalls we love to point out on Friday nights. HHS coaches do not get nearly enough credit for all of the positives that take place on the practice field, in the classrooms, in the homes with their families and at church on Sundays. Coach Mueller spends a great deal of time with the Jr. Football League - because he cares about the youth and he knows that he can make a positive impact on their lives prior to entering the HHS football program. As stated, we dwell on shortfalls on Friday nights but forget about how the coaches develop our student athletes the other 364 days of the year...

Not what I was trying to say, but if that's how you want to read it, go for it.

More talented. What does Cov Cath's talent or coaching have to do with Ryle's?

Bingo! :thumb:

Also, I'd like to add that HHS' tradition of football excellence and the demanding nature of its fans are not unrelated issues. Anytime HHS doesn't meet expectations (which usually means at least a regional title) the fan base starts raising questions. True, too much of this can be counterproductive, but a healthy dose of this (which is how I would classify the situation in Ft. Thomas) keeps everyone (players AND coaches) focused on continued success and learning from past mistakes.
Yes, a lot (possibly a majority) of VERY knowledgeable people were questioning some things last year -- and rightly so. But that's natural with a program like HHS. There are high expectations, and people begin to raise questions when those expectations aren't met. But I don't think anyone would trade the situation we have for another.

This thread has run its course, as we are no longer on the ball(game).
