Highlands vs Ryle Predictions

That is right, I said better coaching. If you put Highlands coaching staff at Ryle last year they wouldn't of went to State. My Grandma could win with the talent they have year in and year out at Highlands.
Take'm all on brother.:fight:

I disagree with you, but I like it anyway.:thumb:

Whooooooooa Nelleeeeee!

Now thats what I call bulletin board material. Gotta like his loyalty.

I am really surprised at how most BGP'ers think this will be a blowout. Just don't see anything but a great, hard-hitting battle and close ball game at Union.

I think if Highlands staff was at Ryle last year Ryle wins state!!

I think Ryle was every bit as talented as Trinity but were out coached and out prepared from the start of the season to the end.

Let's get back to the current game and not travel down a different road.

I agree. I think the highest respect should be held for the Ryle program. Can't wait for Friday night:dancingpa

I still say 19 to 16 Ryle on a long FG ! How will the HEAT play in for both teams ? I know Ryle has around 80 or so players and alot of one way players . Most of Ryle's line is back from last year , Big , quick , and deep . Highlands lost most of there line , but moved some players around to fill in . Smaller , but fast and strong . Not sure on the depth on there lines . Could the Heat play a Big part in this games out come ?

The reason Highlands has the talent they have, year in and year out is because of the coaching. It works from the top down. The coaching staff at Highlands has a big hand in the way the Ft. Thomas Jr. Football league is run and coached. The coaches in the junior system instill the work ethic and dedication that will be expected at Highlands and every kid that comes through the program is ready to be a Bluebird by the time their 8th grade season is over. Even the ones that opt out of football or play for another school are better for having come through the system.

When the arrive at Highlands, Coach Barr starts them on the path to greatness and then Dale and his staff add the finishing touches. You have to admit, the system has worked for many, many years and shows no sign that it is slowing down. Can the same be said of the program at Ryle? No way.

Really, this year's line is probably bigger, faster, and stronger than last year. Hemfling is like 6'4", Stein is around 6'3", Ball is a hefty 6'0", the other guard (depending on who rotates in) is about 6'0", and the center is about 6'0" too (maybe shorter, haven't seen him recently). These boys are angry and ready to push some defenders around. Ryle's line is going to have to be deep and in great shape to keep up with these linemen. They are all very very strong, hard working individuals.

Highlands does a great job of starting down in the Jr. Football League - but they can do that since it is a Ft. Thomas run league. Ryle, Boone nor Conner can do that because BCPWFL is a county league not a city league - and face it - the league has players that not only go to Ryle, Boone and Conner but have gone to CovCath, Dixie, Beechwood, Holy Cross, Lloyd and even NewCath. Heck, I bet we could find someone who even went on to play at Highlands.

And here-in my friends lies the truth about Highlands that isn't spoken by it's fans. True, they are talented year in and out, but not so much more than the above average team, ie other similar sized programs in NKY and the state. Now thats not to say they don't have more than their share of D1 players because they do.

What separates them from the others is their PROGRAM not the players. If Ryle, Boone, Conner, Cooper, Campbell Co., Dixie, Simon Kenton, and Scott pay as much attention to their feeders and middleschool as Beechwood, CCH, and Highlands have over the years they would all have state titles on their shelves.

Some of us have figured that out and are doing something about it, and some of us haven't.

Ok, since everyone's had a night to sleep on this.....care to expand why you think this to be the case?

Ryle welcomes an excellent, well-coached football team to town on Friday. I'm not sure how you could expand on such a statement. Grandma Mueller is a darn good coach IMO.

100 degrees Friday. Anyway the start of the game is moved to later in the evening?

IMO the season begins about 2 weeks too early for just this reason
