U.L. will be good, no question about it. U.L. imo would have hard time in beating LSU and Florida this season and you could add U.T., UGA, Bama, Auburn to the list in in most seasons. I really think that they would also have problem in the Big 10, with Michigan. Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State I don't think that they could win that conference. U.L.'s recent sucsess is admirable but imo does not compare with some of these schools I mentioned as being traditional powers or in these conferences.

Florida is tougher than WV LSU is MUCH tougher than Rutgers UGA/UT is MUCH tougher than USF/whoever UT/UGA is MUCH tougher than whoever/USF South Carolina is tougher than whoever etc... The fact is Louisville has never had a team in their history that would have won the SEC...Could they some day? Sure, but it would be a longshot... :thumb: :thumb:

Tradition does not score points but at least the schools and conferences that I mentioned have a tradition . U.L. has had some sucsees in recent years and that is about it. Like I said they will very good THIS season as well as last but I was talking about year in and year out sucsess. U.L. has to conternd with WVU, Rutgers and maybe Pitt and USF in the big east. It doesn't take a rocket scientest to now that those do not compare with having to go throught a SEC or BIG10 schedule. WVU is excellent as is U.L. this season, imo those two will contend for the big east title. When one looks at the SEC and Big10 (one could also throw in the big12) conferences and the schedule a team has to play in conference to win the conference the I can't see any comparison to the big east as far as playing them week in and week out. (maybe that is why they play a lot on week nights, they can't get top billing on Satudays:D ) Winning a game in a bowl or OOC game is one game vs. one of these schools, it would be a lot different story having to play against that kind of team week in and week out. I didn't say that U.L. would lose to all the teams I mentioned, I said they could have trouble with all of them and certainly would not "run the table". With their current situation the Cards imo will have trouble with a couple of them, really only one (WVU).

July 11, 200719 yr Are we gonna start another "How would Louisville fare in the SEC thread?" or what? Of course, we'd have to consider if they'd be in the East or West...then we'd have to come up with a schedule...I wouldn't pick U of L to win either division, but with a favorable schedule, then I could see it happening. Suppose they were in the West, and they got to play UK, USC and Vandy out of the east...scenarios like that really factor into the SEC, IMO. Who you play and where you get to play them? Sometimes the better teams have to play all their toughest games on the road and it makes the road to the SEC title much more difficult.

Teams like Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina are not pushovers. They are much better usually than Cinncinatti, Pitt, and say Syracuse.

For the ones (Conf.)that you listed I would say: Kentucky - Win Florida - Loss Tenn. - ??? South Carolina - Win (but with Spurrier who knows??) Georgia - another toss up imo, at home U./L. would probably get a win and would lose "between the hedges" Vandy - Win LSU - Loss Ole Miss - Win So imo that is two loses for sure to Fla. and LSU and a couple more possible losses. JMO.
