Everyone of the teams you listed would have beaten UL last season. UL is not in the same class as any of the SEC teams you listed. Their success has only been the last few seasons but it seems a few UL fans have listed them amoung the nations elite. Win a few NC and then you will get your applause.

The problem with this reasoning is that each conference can only have a maximum of two teams in the BCS. The SEC maxed out with #1 Florida and #3 LSU. Louisville was very good last year, and will be very good again this year, but beating Wake in the Orange Bowl isn't something to hang its hat on.

Yes it is it is a BCS win, Wake was the ACC champions, we can't help where they put us, I would have prefered going to the Suger bowl to play LSU myself and let Wake and the Irish duke it out. But the way it turned out LSU beat the Irish team and Louisville beat Wake. Both games are BCS games. But the LSU and Louisville game would have been a better game.

Georgia did beat a Virginia Tech team 31-24 that finished 10-3 and 6-2 in the ACC, the same conference record and the same number of losses as Wake Forest. Oh, and Va Tech also spanked Wake Forest 27-6 AT Wake. Yes, UL won a BCS game but honestly there were several teams in none BCS games that were far superior to Wake Forest. It was a good win but if it were played anywhere but in the Orange Bowl game no one would have noticed. UL had a fine team last season and would have been a force to be reckoned with in any conference--the SEC included. However, to simply dismiss South Carolina (who was a blocked field goal from beating Florida), Georgia who beat a Virginia Tech team that was as good or better than Wake, and Tennessee that lost to LSU and Florida by a TOTAL of 5 points is ridiculous and borders on arrogance. The problem that UL or WVU or Rutgers would have with the SEC wouldn't be in any one game. All of those teams are plenty capable of beating any SEC team in a game. In the 8 game grind of the SEC schedule it is nearly impossible to come out unscathed. I don't think that any of the 3 Big East teams had the quality depth to make it through league play without 2 losses. Now 2 losses isn't bad and in some years would win a division title but I couldn't see any of the 3 running the table or getting by with one loss unless they ended up with a favorable out of division schedule like Arkansas had last year.

And I don't believe anybody has said anything about UL running the table in the SEC, merely that they could win the SEC, whether that be with 1 or 2 losses....
