Good point and clearly when the teaching change became public knowledge so did the opinion of the Beechwood powers that be. 

It will be good to have Noel back.  I heard that he and Jay worked together to make a smooth transition.  Both men are class acts.

There was never any new football job for the fall of 2026.. You're right regarding different versions that will be said publicly. But you're not being lied too. 

Congrats to Rash on being back on the sidelines for Beechwood. In my opinion, the better option for Beechwood.

Good afternoon,

Beechwood High School would like to share an important announcement regarding the Beechwood Tigers Football program. Coach Jay Volker recently accepted a teaching position in Ohio to be closer to his family. With that said, he aimed to continue his role as Beechwood head football coach to maintain continuity this late in the year since football workouts begin June 1st. We are fortunate to have Coach Volker continue to model such professionalism and dedication to the program.

Beechwood Administration and Beechwood Athletics have been in discussions with Coach Volker about the vision and future of Beechwood Football. In that lengthy collaboration, we have all agreed to move forward with recommending the appointment of Mr. Noel Rash as the next coach of Beechwood Football.

Coach Volker and Coach Rash have been working together to ensure a smooth transition for the program. Due to the timing of Coach Volker’s departure and the nature of the situation, Beechwood Schools has moved forward with the appointment of Coach Rash.

Beechwood Schools regards Jay Volker alongside Coach Berry, Coach Yeagle, and Coach Rash as yet another state champion football coach. We thank Jay in not only maintaining, but elevating the commitment, the sacrifice, and the brotherhood - THE standard of Beechwood Football. Coach Volker’s legacy has been etched.

At the same time, we welcome back Coach Noel Rash to Beechwood Football. Thrilled is an understatement in how the Tiger Football family is feeling right now. A legend is coming home only to build upon that legacy he worked so hard to build.

Coach Rash is excited to work with Coach Volker and the coaching staff in a transition plan in order to hit the ground running on June 1, 2026.

Talk to text aside, Beechwood is a celebrated academic institution and this is an "egg on face moment" for Principal Alan Yanke.

This did not all come together between now and the Enquire article dropping... Coach Volker did a good job and the kids loved him. I think this shows the seriousness and weight the authorities of BW expect out of being the head coach at BW. you're the face of the school and community on and off the field. Only 4 men have had the title of head coach in 50 storied years and 18 state titles, the one foot out the door is not going to fly. Welcome Home Coach Rash.

Didn't Beechwood force Rash out when he was the head coach the last time?
