2026 Beechwood Tigers

I am a little conflicted here.  On one hand I agree with you that Beechwood should let Volker coach the 2026 season (I assume that was all agreed upon behind closed doors) but on the other hand my initial thoughts about the schedule being something other than "in the best interests of the Beechwood football program" are more intense now.

What’s the issue with the schedule?  Both scrimmages will be a challenge.  I don’t know much about Indian Hills but I expect it to be competitive.  Cov Cath is a great program and rival.  The district schedule is awful and filled with running clocks (which I hate but you have to play those games).  DH, SK, and Campbell are all big schools and very beatable.  What changes would you like to see made with the schedule?

Tough scrimmage for sure and especially coming off their first scrimmage against Ryle.  It tells me one of two things, either Beechwood is going to be really good and the powers that be want to challenge the Tigers or the powers that be like the "Ohio Limelight" a little too much.

I feel like after 9/18 there isn’t another game on the schedule that will be competitive.  IH instead of NCC seems like a nice upgrade.  Ryle might be down a bit and should be good game   Anderson kicks their butt and can be used as motivation all season.  Their district is so bad.  It’s a real disadvantage.

I agree after 9/18 but I think the first six (including scrimmages), and especially the first three out of the gate, are extremely challenging for a school the size of Beechwood.

Things are heating up in Fort Mitchell. I’d expect some news out before the weekend is over.

And that would be what?

Not my place to say just yet.

Can confirm. If I was a sports writer I’d be making calls to past and present bwood brass. It’s a big one.

Saw on X that coach volker is rumored to have taken a teaching job in Ohio. Any truth to this?

Is Coach Volker leaving Beechwood as a teacher?

Confirmed.  Does appear he will be staying on as the football coach.

Appears so.

Coach Volker tweeted this out tonight in response to the rumors, sharing his direct communication that he sent to the program and district. So at least for this season, he looks to still be the coach at Beechwood. Which makes sense considering what they have coming back, as he should have a great chance to win state title number 2 in his four years at Beechwood.

After this season though, I would be surprised if there is not a change and both parties agree to move on from each other.

Interesting. What school across the river will he be teaching at?

Is he for sure gone after the season? I feel bad for the underclassman, in particular, and even those senior players who are gearing up for the 2026 campaign.

This is a bit of a distraction. Am I being overdramatic?

This is not surprising after they refused to give Noel Rash a pay raise after three consecutive state championships. Will be interesting to see how things unfold in Ft. Mitchell this fall.........
