Well, I was certainly wrong about this one. With practice starting soon, I thought they would stick with Volker, then move on. I respect the Beechwood Admin. for sticking to their guns here. They didn't like what was going on and proactively found a solution. Kudos to them. I would love to see Coach Rash bring home another title to NKY!

He certainly has a great chance to win it. If Beechwood isn’t the favorite, then they are easily 1A imo. Their offense will put up big points. Which while the defense wasn’t bad, I do think the defense will be even better under coach Rash. 

I think those people who don't believe that Beechwood should be considered the favorite going into this season don't quite understand what the Tigers have returning. Not only are there many starters returning, but the young men who will be called upon to step into starting roles this year are incredibly talented. 

And for those who keep bringing up Nash Whelan....you are familiar with Tyler Fryman...yes?

Could be 5, could be 20 years. The next coach at BW will be identified early and molded for another successful transitions.

The Tigers should definitely be just fine this year and in good shape with Coach Rash and should roll through 2A Kentucky Football with more or less one team to beat.

I am very excited about this season too but remember everyone, LCA is the champ and they have this returning:

In fact, LCA returns 8 starters on offense and 8 starters on defense for the 2026 season.

LCA was outstanding last year.  They have to be ranked one to start the season.  I also believe their schedule will have them prepared come playoff time.

Can provide more details on the younger players that will be stepping into more prominent roles?   Besides the returning skill position guys, I am not very familiar with the other players.

Fryman is a stud. He also doesn't touch the ball every play.

You're right...but guess who does? Emmett Queen.

You may be familiar with the name (seems a lack of understanding of who he is in and around Lexington)....if you aren't yet you definitely will be in a few months.

All the reasons you have stated is why I also think Beechwood is the favorite. With that said, all those same players were also on the team last year. I know for me I also thought Beechwood should have won it last year, but they didn't even make the title game. So with the way you are talking about them here, how did they fail last year, because how you are talking about them here, sure makes it sound like it would be impossible for them to lose, but yet they did. 

 

I don't question the skilled talent at Beechwood, I think the key will be the line play on both sides of the ball.

Agreed.  I am very curious to how they man those spots.  Does anyone know if the offense/defense schemes will change with the new coach and how that might impact the team?

Right, you either have those players or you don't and that is my major concern playing such a tough schedule.  Our skilled players should be able to match up with almost anyone, but football powers usually have a bunch of dudes in the trenches and I am not sure Beechwood is on par there.
