Another reason I think Semi-Finals should be at neutral locations.

The powers that be need to be fined for an action like this. It’s insane that in 2025 teams are still acting like it the early days and “gamesmanship” is to be expected. How did the parents react to this at the time? I would be besides myself.

That is a million kinds of crazy. LCA shouldn’t be permitted to host postseason games moving forward if this isn’t drastically changed. And yes, the KHSAA needs to involve themselves.

I am a major proponent of this.

Definitely not a good look. It’s not uncommon for a visiting locker room to not be the best. As some locker rooms for a visiting team are very small, and some are very far away to get to. Which makes teams choose not to go there at halftime. However, zero reason why a visiting team should be denied an opportunity to go to whatever indoor locker room is given to them.

That is where every visiting team dresses.  It is a very short walk to the game field.  Boyle has a farther walk to their locker room.

If the KHSAA has the stones for it, LCA won't be hosting a single playoff game next year, or however long it would take to force some kind of administrative change.

Keep in mind, these are high school-aged adolescents we are talking about here, still legally minors.

LCA better get a statement out. Let the horse's mouth speak, AKA the school's administration.

Facts about the LCA / Belfry Football game halftime situation last night that are not being told that should be known. I should mention that both schools are near and dear to us. LCA is taking a beating on social media today so I feel like I should say something. 

 Yes, Belfry was escorted to the soccer field bleachers. LCA was escorted behind the home side bleachers as well outside. They don’t have a locker room either. Both teams did have access to heated bathrooms. New bathrooms were installed at the soccer field and accessible. The bathrooms on the soccer field side are nice. Our crew has enjoyed them this year. 

LCA provided electric and put down boards on their track for Belfry to have their gas heaters during the game. They look like a missle on wheels with a flame at the end. It was putting out heat the whole game. Belfry had heat the whole game. Trust me we smelled the heater all night. 

The soccer pressbox housed their coaches and radio crew. There is no heat inside the pressbox. I did bring a space heater and shared it with everyone. The scoreboard is hard to see from that pressbox but because we knew what to expect we had a device that receives data plugged into the controller and we put up on a screen for the Belfry radio crew and our crew to keep up with the game clock. 

There was one situation where replay could have been used but because it is not used in HS sports it was not an option. For some reason the officials lost track of downs. We could have easily corrected that situation had that been an option. 

I think a lot of things talked about miss these facts and I wanted to take up for LCA and their athletic staff. They are good people!

Apparently, they do not have locker rooms.  

Many years ago LexCath was playing there and a fairly nasty thunderstorm rolled in.  Where was the LexCath team?  They had to take refuge in the baseball dugouts. The storm was intense but quick and play continued after about an hour.
