I would have walked to the locker room rather than sit in cold. Keep those legs moving then be in warmth for however long then get legs warmed up walking back to field.

Not true.  Red line is visitors lockers and black is Boyle’s.  Boyle’s is actually farther from the field.  

We found the AD and all the support staff at LCA that we dealt with to be excellent in every way. It is something that definitely needs to be attended to, but its too easy to question someone’s character on a message board. Ok, I’m taking down my soapbox. ?

They would not let our team go to the locker room at half time!  The sheriff escorted them to the field behind the visitor stands!! Out in the cold and dirt !! KHSAA is this how you treat visiting teams?? BHS 15 LCA 14 halftime

LCA doesn’t go to a warm and cozy gym at halftime either. I think Belfry should focus on playing better football.

Very shameful for a Christian founded school to act like this. 

They also don’t allow equal press box access. Which is illegal. You have to go at it when their ad to get your camera up there.  I’ve never seen any class from their coaches or administrators.

Not saying I know what happened in this particular situation, but this is exactly how I remember playing at LCA. Raceland chose to stay in the field behind the bleachers instead of walking to and from the distant locker room. They were offered the locker room, but chose to not go there at halftime. 
 

And, to be clear, if we are going to institute evaluations of the ability of a school to have the right to host games, or playoff games, there will be many schools that I have been to personally, that need evaluation before LCA. 
 

With the above stated, administratively, I think schools should treat opposing teams the way they wish to be treated when the roles are reversed.

Unless the regulations have changed, a hosting school does not have to allow access to the press box for opposing coaches and/or film crews, but they do have to provide comparable accommodations if press box access is not granted.

Some schools idea of comparable isn’t very comparable. I’ve been at places where the home team, announcers and tv/radio crew took up the whole press box. The schools idea of comparable was you could setup on top of the press box (no matter rain, snow or the like) with no access really to electricity. This often never communicated before showing up. 

For those saying "Belfry maybe (or probably) chose to stay out instead of taking the long walk... I had those initial thoughts as well.  I wondered if it was a time management decision where they felt they needed all the halftime to coach 'em up.  I wondered if it was forced or if it just was bad optics.  

Today I have been told they were flat denied the opportunity to leave the field and walk to the locker room.  This was posted on facebook by Belfry's head coach's adult son in response to that type of speculation, so it is a pretty good source 

" they was denied entry by LCA officials and Lexington PD. The team was exiting the field when Lexington PD blocked the exit and denied entry. When asked for a reason on why Belfry couldn’t go back to there assigned locker room LCA assistant AD responded “that’s just the way we do it” . The pirates was then escorted off by Lexington PD to concrete bleachers on a soccer field ."

Completely unacceptable and beyond ridiculous. Lexington PD blocked the exit, denied entry and then the comment from the assistant AD?!?!? Are you kidding me????

Cannot process why any adult or group of adults would be ok with being apart of this kind of nonsense. 

I hope that while the Eagles are prepping for next week’s game, the admin and staff are spending some time reviewing their mission statement and focusing on what HYPOCRISY means.
