I'm not saying it's justified.  I'm just saying I don't think they would remove him.  Old Harrodsburg guy, star player, schools merged together and a large group finally getting an old Harrodsburg guy in charge.  Just don't think they would remove him if he didn't want to go.

Because his family is AD?  Why is he untouchable?  He has completely destroyed the Mercer program in the last 3 years.

As well as a recent Hall of fame induction for he and the AD.

I understand what you are saying. Could number of players out make the decision for everyone?  Mercer had over 70 players when Yeast took over and now in the low 30's.  When he took over they had a freshmen and JV team.  They did not have enough players to have a JV team this year at a 4A school the size of Mercer.  Yeast isn't trying to rebuild from mistakes from previous coach.  Yeast would have to rebuild from problems he created.  Previous coach had over 70 players and beat CAL twice. Is Booher going to allow Mercer to continue to be a laughing stock?  They may need new leadership in the Athletic Department as well.  Wait until people see their basketball and baseball teams this year.

Wow, I didn't know things were this bad at Mercer.  Would explain the poor record this season.  Why are numbers down so much?

3A school, middle of the pack in the last alignment. Enrollment has actually decreased quite a bit in recent years.

They've also played a brutal schedule. Calpreps rates it the 3rd toughest schedule in Class 3A, which makes a rebuilding year doubly tough.

Why are they rebuilding in year four if things are moving in the right direction?  How do you inherit a 9-3 program with over 70 players and 4 years later you have lost half your roster and 1-8? In the past they looked at this year as one of the best teams they were supposed to have in a while.  This was in no way shape or form supposed to be rebuilding year.  In 8 of the losses 5 were running clocks. What they didn't expect is that players in masses would decide not to play for this coaching staff.  Tates Creek is 4-5 and put a running clock on them.  Southwestern beat them by 23 and that is their only win of the season.

With everyone going into the 1st round of the KHSAA playoffs, has anyone had a change of heart about any of these jobs? Scott has already opened up, which I think makes the first official opening of the cycle?

I'm wondering if the next St. X coach will be from current staff or Jefferson County because Coach Wallace said most difficult part of job was student acquisition because when he was at Bowling Green they had feeder schools and at St. X you're competing with Trinity for kids in Catholic school plus public schools. Would be helpful if the new coach is familiar with Louisville Metro but I'm sure not a deal breaker.

The consolidated Christian County Tigers will be in the market for a HFC this offseason cycle as well. May be an interesting job.

I’d guess that it would be local as you mentioned.

May not be someone on staff but it could be someone in the building???

Also when looking at local schools, the HC at the alphabet school, with the initials HC comes to mind. He has some success in the “student acquisition” and some State Championships in his pocket?

I would have to think the guy at Frankfort may be out.

I would make Hunter Cantwell an offer he couldn't refuse but I'm not in charge of the check book. Lol.

You at least have to ask him if you're X. I don't see any way you can justify not considering him.
