Honestly I think it is very rare, if it at all that a school moves a guy up to varsity just to make it harder for them to leave. I would say 98% of the time if a school moves up a kid to varsity as a freshman, it is because that player truly deserves to be playing varsity as a freshman and wasn’t moved up just because.

I agree, I also think the timing of when a freshman is moved up matters. If the freshman is moved up at the beginning through the middle of the season it is totally the intention that the freshman is the best option at that position. Normally, the "let's get him in a varsity game so he will stay here" movement happens at the end of the freshman season and then the player is thrown in on one random special team play. 

Any word on the incoming freshmen class? How’s the talent pool look? Any word on the transfers? Has the staff stayed intact?

Is measuring 20mph a new thing or has it been around awhile? What is the idea behind seeing who can run that fast? Congrats, I never even ran 10mph if I had to guess.

I would say that there's technology now to understand top speed while being on the field rather than just a 40yd dash. I'd also say any time you can measure you can learn and use the data to get better.

These Numbers are measured through a Tracking system called "Catapult" that the Football program uses.  Highlands has 40 players daily that wear a Vest that has a Tracking pod included that Measures all the Daily movement.

It is really cool to see real time technology and what each player needs to work on.... We use it to really monitor the wear and tear on our Players.

It's 2025...Schools need to step up their game for their Student Athletes.
