I looked into this and Hayden Sphire is also Highlands' College Recruiting Coordinator.  That is the way this was explained to the Touchdown Club and the parents.

That dungeon was part of what gave Highlands their grit. The little nasty leg extension machine room had sweat running down the walls. You could hear the lost souls of extra reps moan from the drain. 

Any truth that the Birds have lost two returning OL starters this winter? One who decided not to play, and one is transferring to a GCL school?

I heard something similar. I thought one was a returning starter transferring to GCL. The other was a non starter transferring to same GCL. Haven’t heard anything else about it. 

The starter transferring has been in the rumor mill for a couple of months.  I'm not surprised by the other one.  This may be the tip of an iceberg that the USS Bluebird cannot avoid, due to several unhappy campers and their parents. 

Two players from the same school transferring to the same GCL school? In this day in age I’m not surprised at all but I’m sure we are all curious to what brought about these circumstances.

One transferring and One just isn’t playing anymore. 

I thought the Ohio rule was you must live in Ohio to play.

That’s how Highlands stole the two  Streeter brothers from St Xavier like 15 years ago.

Really? Feel like that would be a bigger deal. Hearing numbers 9th - 12th are up around 130 total.

Birds will be just fine.  You have Merz(300+lb dog), Cook(300+lb dog)and Howard(300+lb dog) coming back on the oline.  It's gonna be a fun challenging season that will have the birds battle tested and ready for a run.

I hear quite the contrary. The numbers overall are way up and there is tremendous buy in from all grades. Everyone program and every sport will have a couple kids that have one issue or another with a coach and there is typically an underlying reason as to why (playing time, recruitment, lack of recruitment, etc).

The Birds are completely loaded and it’s going to be a fun next few years!
