That is Cash Harney. There are a group of QBs in the area (Cash, Rio Litmer, Cam O'Hara, Lloyd's QB etc..) that train/have throwing sessions with Highlands assistant coach Matt Shearer. They were working out at HHS last week. Just thought I would mention this before the Cash Harney to HHS rumors start ?

Matt Shearer played at SK then EKU and did a year coaching as GA at Carson Newman. He is an excellent young coach.

Nice. Did Lorenzen participate?

I don’t think I’ve seen Cash outside of a football uniform. Really nice group of QBs in northern Kentucky.

Tayden was not there the night these photos were taken. I know Matt Shearer works with many QBs in the area multiple times per week.

Lorenzen doesn’t participate. He will not be the starting QB in 2025 at Highlands to the unrest of many who think he should. He will get some timely reps at QB this year from what I have been told but his future is playing TE somewhere. Not QB. Take it for what its worth.

How is it acceptable for a Highlands coach to train/have contact with/utilize Highlands facilities to coach high school kids enrolled at other schools? Seems like a huge conflict of interest and overstep of allowed responsibilities.

Many assistant coaches also work as trainers. If a player is paying to train, I see no issues. If there is an open field, go use it.

I also think it is good for top players to train together. See it all the time.

Matt has been training quarterbacks since he was in college before he started coaching . He’s worked with quarterbacks from nearly every school in the area and he uses several other high school facilities not just Highlands, pretty much anywhere there’s an open field. These kids are working and trying to get better on their own time(including Cash trying to get better for Cov Cath) and people like you try to hold them back.

People like me? I simply asked a question.

I just don’t see how a coach employed by one school is allowed to be in contact with kids enrolled at bother school.

I’m glad to see the kids getting extra work in, and I am not doubting Matt’s resume or coaching ability. But if it were Hayden Sphire training O’Hara/ Harney/ etc, do we see an issue with that?

I get it ! It’s everywhere though , Jordan Franks over at Beechwood is the receivers coach and does the same thing. He works with several local Quarterbacks and receivers from outside of the school and uses Beechwood’s field.
