Kentucky 90 Gonzaga 89 (OT)

Featured Replies

Final! Carr misses two FT's but does not hang his head and comes back and knocks the ball away before the Zags player could get a shot up. I do not care what anyone says if Cal was still coach we never get to OT because he would have played man the who game and we would have lost by 10 or more! What a game and it is so great win or lose to see a coach who continues to encourage the players no matter the score and coaches instead of screaming at the refs! Good job Coach Pope and the Kentucky team! We were without Butler for the game and without Kriisa for the last 8 minutes and OT. A big win for these guys I believe will pay dividends later in the season. Next up a home game on Wednesday vs. Colgate on ESPN2 at 8:00pm.

  • And can we stop with every game being a referendum on Calipari? He’s officially become the ex girlfriend you can’t get over. Calipari did a lot of great work but it’s time to move on (like he did).

  • Wow!!! I think that Pope guy can actually coach a bit.

What a thriller!

Cats Cats Cats!

Wow!!!

1st time in 175 games Gonzaga has lost when up by 10 at the half, they lead by as many as 18.

Talk about a tale of two halves.  Intensity in the second half was much better.  Only shot 9 triples in second half & OT.  Still just 7-26 for the game.

Very good win away from home, especially after that atrocious first half.

I'm working a 6p-6a shift tonight.  What happened to Butler and Kriisa?

Butler was out with an ankle injury.  Kriisa went out with a calf injury, it appeared.  Looked like cramping, but I don't know.

Yeah, hopefully both are back next game or two. Butler finished the Clemson game which is when his injury occurred but I'm sure it was sore as heck afterwards, ankles suck in that regard. Kriisa, not sure exactly and I honestly think he MAY have been able to return but the way Robinson and Oweh were playing, Brea too, I could understand Pope just keeping with what was working. I think the size and length of those 3 for UK really bothered Gonzaga in the second half and OT.

Gonzaga missed some wide open shots in the second half and OT but so did UK in the first. Wild, awesome game that was worth staying up for.

They said on post-game radio that Kerr had to be carried back out to the bench after his injury. Pope said they'd need some imaging to see the extent of his injury. Hopefully he's back soon, but sounded like he may have a worse injury than most expected.

Even after he went down, he got up and tried to get back on defense. Seems to be a really tough kid.

Carr is the strength, guts, and backbone of this squad, great comeback by the Cats and so good to have a real coach!!

It feels so good as a fan to finally start winning these games again!!!!! Not having to listen to a laundry list of excuses as to why we lost and how it is not that big of a deal. A coach that makes adjustments at half time. Players that just keep playing if they’re up 20 or down 20.
