Hopefully someone outside the program and they bring a good D coordinator.

I agree with your last comment, and that says it won't be an internal hire.

Is Jesse Herbst a possibility?

I could see it as a possibility. Many liked him defensively when he was there. I hope Dayton doesn’t lose him but could understand if he was offered.

If a current coach on the team probably Chad Lawrence.

It would be difficult to find a worse one, to be fair.

St. X.

This is a good job.  Marksberry had a great run.

Markesberry’s good run came with Coach Lucas as his OC (annually one of the best offensive coaches in NKy) and defense seemed more often than not a little short of the challenge.

Noel Rash….FIVE STAR!

100% not happening ... ... ... ... ... ...

Hopefully they don't look to CVG to fill this role, way too many touchdowns over there.

Dan Woolley should at least get a look if he's interested.

Brown - first call if defense is priority. Quite the reśume over the last 10 years at Cov.

The following is in no particular order, just throwing some names out there…

Barth - is SK closer commute than WV was?

Floyd - was at SK, now def. coordinator at Conner.

Mosier - still interested in becoming HC after not getting the Walton job?

Wynn - does getting back into Kenton Co. intrigue him at all?

I should add, I don’t see SK going first time head ball coach unless already on staff/in building. That would already eliminate Floyd and Mosier.

From what I've heard (doesn't mean it's reliable), the travel wasn't the issue with Barth. He was ready to have less on the plate than a head coaching job.

Seems to be more and more of the story nowadays, perhaps he has that itch after a season off!

I wonder if Dave Brossart will apply for this job.

He was part of the coaches on defense.
