Somerset will be big underdogs next week against Owensboro Catholic but I'll be pulling for them.  They just continue to get better as this season rolls along.

A year ago this past week was one of the lowest points, if not the lowest point, in Briar Jumper Football history as we lost Head Coach Robbie Lucas. As good a coach as he was, he was a hundred times better man and leader of young men. A sudden loss like that would leave a hole in any program.

It would have been easy for the program to take a step back, and really no one would have blamed them.

However with the hire of Coach Clevenger, Somerset got exactly the shot in the arm they needed. Coach Clevenger understood his mission from day one and seems to have focused on just two things, football and expanding the culture of Somerset football. 

Somerset is in the Semi-State and I honestly don't think anyone outside of the field house, really thought that was possible before the season.

Regardless if the season ends next week or a week later on Kroger Field, I feel it's safe to say that Somerset is on firm footing moving forward.
