Coach Sphire is a good coach, and has obviously done a great job building out the line of scrimmage, but is always going to be compared to a 10. His main competition for the division in Park Hills and Danville are probably 9’s as coaches too. Tough spot.

When healthy, definitely.  I think the shocker here was Boyle’s injury situation.

I am a huge Dale Mueller fan. We did 7 on 7 w/ them when I was at Mason. I would visit/learn whenever I could.  I lost my mind when I scheduled them but I my ambition outpaces my brain, often. 

In 2012 we were visiting before our game. I thought all that goes with coaching the Bluebirds was beginning to wear on him.  I love Highlands football. Incredible history and football program. Still, it takes a special cat to lead the Bluebirds. And, doing so for the long haul... very special what Dale was able to do.

I don’t live in the Fort, but I know two things:

1.) Cake eaters are not happy with losing in the 3rd round multiple years in a row.

2.) Bert's son plays for the Bluebirds at the youth level, and Ft. Thomas residents are hopeful that means he’s coming back.

Sphire has been unable to lead the team to the big wins, when it counts. The last two years, were 100% his teams, lots of talent, great expectations but still no state titles.  Is this the longest title drought in Highlands history?
