I'll say it again, He's not going anywhere! He's bullied himself into position to the point that no one in the administration is willing to address.

Not trying to stir the pot as I'm genuinely curious but can you elaborate a little more on this?

Rather interesting that the guy who was HC for three days has his team in the finals and a guy the Bluebird faithful said on this site was not accomplished enough to be their head coach has three consecutive wins over the Birds and is in the finals for the second straight season. I guess maybe those guys can coach just a little. I'm still wondering if anyone has ever given up 54 in the second half after leading at halftime. Cooper's defense just overwhelmed Highlands vaunted OL with pressure in the second half.

We'll never know, unfortunately.  But coach Bathiany is leading his teams to victories against much better competition than Highlands faces week in and week out.

Very true! He also has way more talent on his team than Highlands does, respectfully.

I am not as familiar with the recent history of Highlands football (J Lorenzen is not walking thru that door anytime soon) but it seems like they have trended up in the last few years. This season 11-3 with wins over Cov Cath and Lex Cath and played Ryle within one score and a state semis game. What is the beef?

The logic of many of the Bird faithful is if you don't win it all your season was unsuccessful. That's unfortunate but true. Other programs have caught up and that's why they haven't gotten the big trophy in a while. Coach Mueller did a great job.....but for about 10 seasons the talent level was really good. Great coaching and great players lead to great things happening.

While he may be facing better competition. He also is coaching overall better talent at Moeller than what he would have at Highlands. 

At the end of the day Highlands lost to two teams this year. Twice to Cooper and once to Ryle. Both Cooper and Ryle are playing for a State Title this week. So they lost to two teams that are legit top 4 teams in the state regardless of class IMO. So they simply lost to teams better than them. That is nothing to be a shame of. Highlands is now back to at least being in contention every year.

Ha definitely not. However, I definitely can acknowledge the current staff has done a good job building it back. As a program I think they are in very good shape.
