Productive stay at Cov Cath. I don't think you can blame him for leaving and there was speculation when he was hired. It kind of reminds me of Saban. You know he might bail for the next best job but he should take your program to the next level.

Cov Cath from a talent and fan base standpoint is a top job! Yeagle there would be scary!

As to this not being good for CovCath, I'm sure CovCath will be able to land a top notch coach and things will turn out just fine. As a premier program in the state, that had some luster returned to it with the state title this year, CovCath will attract some really qualified applicants. And with the somewhat constant rumors that have surrounded Rodenburg looking to leave, maybe its best that it happened now, as opposed to later. I've heard from some close sources that Rodenburg never really immersed himself in all things CovCath and that caused some friction and hard feelings. Better he leave now with the recent success of a state championship than stay around a couple of more years and risk those feelings getting worse. Having said that, I wish him well and I wish CovCath success in finding his replacement.

I would hope Mr. Clines is now aware of many things to bring up during the interview process as a bit of a preemptive strike.

As said in another post, alot of coaches could of won state with this team. I think he decided to leave while the getting was good because the next few years would of showed his true coaching ability, which I think is suspect.

I wouldn't consider this years team to be rebuilding. You will not confuse the talent of this years team with last, but they still have lots to work with and can contend if it all comes together at years end.

First of all, I wish Coach R luck. He is one heck of an offensive football coach.

 

Like Wildcat, I don't understand the move because I think it is a lateral one from McNick. However, and I really don't know much about this, I was told that one of the reasons Coach R went to Bacon was because there is a good chance that Purcell could merge with Bacon and if that is the case I think it is a good move on the part of Coach R. Has anyone heard anything about Bacon and Purcell?

 

Also, I think the most important thing for CCH is to hire a coach that will go out and promote the benefits of a Catholic education to prospective students. If the CCH football program is handled the right way they will dominate NKY every year.
