John Rodenberg of CovCath has left for Roger Bacon

Also, I hope this teaches the administration a little lesson on hiring this time around. I know it's always difficult to tell about people and you have no idea what someone might say in an interview but you could see this from the time he walked in the door.

Maybe they should have listened to Coach Ray who was Rhodenberg's ONLY dissenting vote during the search.

Let the speculation begin as to the next HC at CCH.

If you insist, Yeagle?????

Why would he live McNicholas to go to CovCath to then go to Roger Bacon?

McNicholas has had more success in the playoffs than Roger Bacon; I realize his thoughts on KY football, but it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

P.S.-The Birds better hope CCH doesn't hire Yeagle.

My opinion is that Rodenburg wants a D1 parochial position but they are hard to come by. By going to CCH, he boosted his resume and credibility with a state championship in just 2 yrs. They pay was poor and reality set in. Going back across the river is much more challenging and he is young enough to do the Roger Bacon gig for a while, coach his son, and then move on to the bigger parochial school when the opportunity presents. Good move for Rodenburg but I feel bad for the CCH community. They just went thru this process 2 yrs ago.

Why is that???????

It seems that Ramsey is looking for a job, maybe someone in Park Hills should mail him an application?

Is Mike Wolfe a CovCath grad? My guess is that the next CovCath coach will be a CovCath grad whom can be expected to be loyal to the school and the program. If Wolfe is a CovCath grad, I'd expect him to be the front runner. Has he had any head coaching experience? Is he an asst. at Conner or Boone?

The guy won a state championship ... so why the complaints?

He is a CCH grad. He is at Ryle. He'll have a lot of support, no question, but I'd expect the next guy to have Head Coaching experience.

I thought Rodenberg was a LaSalle grad?

Hautman is a LaSalle and Notre Dame grad, I'm 99.9% sure that he is a Bacon grad and that had to be the big pull. What you might be thinking of is they were both on LaSalle's staff together before he went to McNick.

Could be, thanks. :thumb:

No complaints about the state championship although as much talent this team had I believe that numerous coaches would have brought home the trophy. I believe he won despite himself many times until the last two games when he coached very very well.

I guess it's just a disappointment for the program and the kids, starting over for them with all new assistants, new head coach, new program is a pain in the rear for all. School has to hire a new head coach and new teacher to fill his spot. Just allot of hastles for a guy that was here for a year and a half(two seasons).

I also think if this WAS the Elder job my thoughts and comments would be different as you could'nt pass that up, but Bacon......

Pay and retirement could be an issue with a teacher who has taught in the publc schools for a while. That will limit the field.

No question, unfortunately we are no match for the Boone county system in regards to either. That being said some guys don't look at those things if it's their alma mater, don't have any idea how close Mike still is to CCH
