However, and I really don't know much about this, I was told that one of the reasons Coach R went to Bacon was because there is a good chance that Purcell could merge with Bacon and if that is the case I think it is a good move on the part of Coach R. Has anyone heard anything about Bacon and Purcell?

Why couldn't Cov. Cath grow to the size of Trinity? More students more money. More parents willing to help out, and donate. Better fundraisers also.

Because Trinity is in Louisville and has a lot more population base to draw from than CovCath does. And with private schools Holy Cross, NewCath, St. Henry, Latin, Villa all within close proximity and public schools Beechwood, Holmes, Dixie all just as close, CovCath will never grow to the size of Trinity (unless lots of other schools close) and will be fortunate not to see a decrease over the upcoming years as the price increases.

With what was said to the players at the last team meeting this news today came as a total surprise to me. The most frustrating part is that he is leaving CovCath for a lesser quality program. Although I would still be upset, I would atleast understand if Rodenberg was leaving for an Elder or a Colerain type of school but Roger Bacon that just doesn't make sense to me. Now everything players have been working for the last few years is meaningless because everyone has to re-earn a spot and re-impress an entirely new coaching staff.

As said in another post, alot of coaches could of won state with this team. I think he decided to leave while the getting was good because the next few years would of showed his true coaching ability, which I think is suspect.

Jan 4 Rodenberg held a meeting, and told the players he was not talking to anyone at the point. I can not believe the way he handled this with the players. Many of them just found out at tonights game while the public was already told? I believe he should of at least told his players some truth.

A school population is affected by many factors, both public and private. Thats why there are now 6 clases, to have schools of similar size compete against each other. If CCH keeps same size, then same class. increase biffer class, decrease, smaller class. I do not understand the discussion about $$ and football/enrollment with a class system.

With these two statement back-to-back, I read this as the new coach should go out and recruit football players. Promoting "education" is not going to cause your football program to dominate, and we all know that.

The rate of tuition increase with virtually no religious-based teachers, will be staggering in the next years. Believe me it is a concern of the CovCath administration as well as every other private school. Especially for families that have multiple children in high school at the same time.

Mike Wolfe should have been hired in the first place. Many and I mean many major supporters of CCH wanted Mike as the new head coach. Would Mike even be interested anymore after being slapped in the face, IMO. I don't think I would. As mentioned, retirement from the public school is much better than the private school.

Actually, for incoming FROSH it will be $24k+ over 4 years. Your point is 100% correct. At some point, and its different for every family, a hard decision is going to have to be made.
