John Rodenberg of CovCath has left for Roger Bacon

And thats one of my points. At CovCath you are excepted to play the BIG BOY"S, and you are excepted to win. At Bacon, you play a schedule that you can, and should win. You don't play the really tough schools. My guess is that if CovCath played the Bacon schedule, they would have done just as well on the Ohio side of the river last years, as on the Kentucky side..... Jimmyref, not getting defense at all, but No team that I am aware of on that schedule would have given St. X, or Elder as good of a game as CovCath did... Am I correct?

The best team on Bacon's schedule would of been Kettering Alter that lost by 1 point in the state final in Division 3 in Ohio going 14-1. But checking their schedule, they had to play 4 out of state teams and beat them to get to the playoffs. Playing Elder and losing doesn't help them as much as beating Beechwood and Beechwood winning some games. Yes, it's macho to say we took on Elder but at the end of the year, you might of missed the playoffs with that schedule.

I cannot say that Bacon 2006 ranks with CC 2006 (Division 3 vs division 2( 3A) in both OHio and Ky) but I am sure that he wanted to coach his son and Bacon gives him the opportunity and reach the playoffs.

I believe when Mueller coached in Ohio, he went 10-0 one year and didn't make the playoffs!! The system is twisted across the pond. Good luck in your search CCH...no excuses next fall!

That was long before Ohio doubled the playoff teams per region to 8.

In a state having 700+ teams playing football, it is the best possible system; a team has to beat teams that are going to win games. If they played it out like KY, they would still be playing!

Nobody undefeated doesn't make the playoffs, unless they are playing terrible teams, and teams that go 5-5,6-4 make the playoffs because they beat very good teams that win a lot of games!

One thing is for sure, I bet all the HHS fans are breathing a sigh of relief because Coach R had there number. But, I wish Coach R great success at RB and hope he does get at shot at a college coaching job. CCH will find another good coach and keep winning games as usual.

"Had their number"??

Rodenberg had better talent than the Birds this year. Simple as that.

Personally I think he had better talent the previous year also and managed to lose.

Whew! I guess I can sleep at night now.

Best of luck to Coach, I just hate to see him leave a great football school for a lesser one, no disrespect to Bacon but we all know there will always be better talent and CCH than at Bacon.

Bacon and Purcell are not "merging" in Ohio after this year there are no restricting codes, which means that kids from purcell can go to any other school.

I cant, its 5:30am and I have been up all night still thinking that Rodenburg will change his mind and come back and own the Birds.

Memo to CCH fans, you were the better team this year and won. You probably had better talent last year and didnt win. Rodenburg is a good coach but he wasnt the one making defensive plays and hauling in game winning touchdowns. It was the boys ont the field and give them the credit for those victories. If Bleser,Bovard,Flynn, Geisen and Brown along with the other outstanding talent doesnt make plays there is not glory in sweeping Highlands.

I just wish he would have stuck around long enough to suffer a few more Losses to the Birds. Oh well.

Memo to CCH fans

No reason for the shotgun approach Qryche11, when in fact, I believe you were directing your message to one semi-out-of-touch CCH fan.

Your right, I dont want to sound disrespectful. I had a lot of respect for the Colonels so my apologies. I am simply not a big Rodenburg fan but at this point it doesnt matter. Peace.

After a good nights sleep, I enjoy a good laugh in the morning.

Is The Coach That Left (my parody of Rodenberg's The Team from Ft. Thomas) still teaching at CovCath? If so, how is the relationship between the players and The Coach That Left?

I heard the spitball and paperwad count has gotten increasingly difficult for him to manage and wisecracks about his haircut are being heard all over CCH. :D
