Agree! I was talking to family about this the other day. Lots of weird quirks. Travel is well advanced now, but why did they go to Baltimore, fly home for 3 days and then fly back to Washington DC? 

None of it makes sense.

I prefer the NFL’s method of division games to close out the year.

I know there’s much less chance in those games determining much after 162 games rather than 17, but at least there’s a chance. If you’re going to have a run of 6 games against a common divisional foe, do it then.

I can't imagine the logistics that go into making professional league schedules, especially MLB. You change up one thing it can have a domino effect across the entire league. Y'all see this quirk in the schedule as unfair or goofy, I find it fascinating they can put it together as well as they can.

Over 2,400 games for 30 teams in 180 days, scheduled by a couple from Staten Island.

Nope.  Hated it then, and every other time it's happened.

I also hated that we played 2 of the 4 Pirates' series in the month of April.

Hated that we played the only 2 series with the Phillies within a span of 10 days.

And I hate that we'll play the final 2+ months of the season facing every other division opponent (Pittsburgh, Chicago & St. Louis) TWICE...but, not play the Brewers AT ALL.  Last game against Milwaukee is July 26th.

All of which has nothing to do with whether the Reds are in contention or not.   And I realize that there is a domino effect when it comes to swapping games here and there.  But I just feel like some simple parameters could be put into place when it comes to scheduling that could eliminate these instances.

I agree. Every division opponent should be on the schedule for at least one series in the last month of the season. It should be easy to make that happen.

My assumption is they have a set of a parameters they go by; hence, why these are not common occurrences.
