The Reds lost 10-3, lost the home series against the Jays, wrapped up a second consecutive losing homestand, fell to 14-20 since the All-Star break, and have now won just 3 of their last 11 games in Great American Ball Park.

They are 5-12 in the month of August, all of which came after the club opted against making significant additions at the trade deadline. They’ve fallen to 64-61, sit 4.0 games out of 1st place in the National League Central, occupy 3rd place in this mostly dismal division, and are now a game out of a Wild Card spot, too.

  • The unmitigated gall of someone not considering that the Reds would be contending about now.  Terrible foresight.

Yep, August will usually seperate the pretenders from the contenders.

The Reds need to find a way to win, and quickly.

Yesterday's loss was really bad in that they lost a game to the Cubs, Marlins, Brewers, and Giants who all won.

Hunter Greene stinks.  That didn't help whatsoever.

I agree, he has, I know they probably wanted him to get some work in the first appearance but they left him out there getting hammered so long he was probably still embarrassed for the next start!!

I'm wondering if he's still hurting?

Well I’ll be the pessimist. He wasn’t good prior to the injury.

He actually had not been too bad before going on the IL, only had 2 wins but had a 3.93 era, run support was nonexistent

great start again by our boys, taking fastballs down the middle, 6 of first 7 batters strikeout, Reds need to bring Derek Jeter in and let him talk to them about his approach to hitting

9 out of 12 k’s, SWING THE BATS!!!  Just unbelievable how many fastballs they take down the middle!!

This team is in a downward spiral, but the good thing is we have Mr. Bell for the next three years.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

To the question in the topic, NO!!!   Probably not going to finish above .500, actually they’re not even being competitive in a lot of these games. Getting no hit through 8 by a guy that hasn’t won a game since July 5 and has a 6.80 era in August, just not even competitive

I totally agree with your projections.

They suck currently.  Pitchers have hit the wall.  And that's more than the offense can say because they can't hit anything.
