LOVE the hard hedge action Sparty is showing against KState when a 4/5 ballscreens for Nowell, KState has not scored against it yet!!

This didn't age well. K-State getting open shots every possession it seems. Nowell with 10 assist at halftime.

It was obviously all just luck what he did. We were told hard hedging and  a  better coach would slow Nowell down. So if Nowell was able to put up 20 plus points and set a record with 19 assists, it had to have been luck. No way hard hedging and having a great coach like Izzo would allow a player like Nowell to go off like that. It was all luck what he did tonight

He stinks. Give him the heave-ho.

He needs to be gone. He allowed one player to single handily beat his team. How could he have not figured out how to stop one player? A good coach doesn’t allow one player to beat him. Plus he only had won one title in his career. It’s time for Michigan State to move on.

So the answer was to put Oscar on the perimeter where he can't shoot or dribble and he's 20' away from an offensive rebound? And which athletic rim protector are you referring to?

No definitely not saying that.  Oscar would still post up on the offensive end.  Maybe play some high-low? As to who is the athletic rim protector?  That's on Cal.  He structures the roster.  If Kentucky can't recruit one then something is wrong.  It's Call's insistence that Oscar is a 5 and you can surround him with 4 guys outside is the problem.

Wasn't that what everyone was begging Cal to do before this season? Get a bunch of shooters and veteran shooters at that?

And if one of those veteran shooters hits a couple of 3's we are debating the MSU vs UK outcome now!  Collins is the athletic rim protector...unfortunate circumstances hurt his year.

I am not sure what happened with Wheeler (speculation is pressure and fans got to him and he basically quit), but he may have been what helped the most defensively against K State.

Yourself real good about this post for a short time, didn't ya? Ouch.

No, KState basically quit ballscreens and just let Nowell take Michigan Stare 1 on 1, they didn’t have anyone that could guard him 1 on 1, Ky did!!!!  Ouch!!
